Presentation Requirements
Winter 2024 Ms. Fuentes
PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
THE PRESENTATION:
The presentations will begin on February 27, 2024. All students are required to be prepared to present on this date
(regardless of your “assigned” presentation order) unless other accommodations have been made.

A group that is not prepared on the day of the presentation will be subject to a full grade reduction.

Presentation topics will be chosen by the students. Presentation topics may be changed ONLY with the approval of the
teacher.

All presentations must include information regarding disease prevention/transmission.

The objective of the presentation is to inform, educate, and interest your audience.

Your focus should be to communicate information in such a way that we, as an audience, are enlightened.

Do not read your presentation.

For grading purposes, refer to the rubric.

TIME:
As noted on the rubric, to receive total available points, each presenter must speak for at least 1 minute.
Required length of entire presentation is limited to (# of group members x 1 minute)
Maximum time= # of group members x 2 minutes
POWERPOINT/GOOGLE SLIDES:
You must have a slideshow to aid in the delivery of your presentation. Confirm that the classroom accommodates your
technology needs in advance of your presentation. For any audio-visual aide needs, advance arrangements must be made
as well. Only the content of the slideshow will be graded.
Your PowerPoint/google slides presentation must be submitted on Schoology by 8 AM on Feb. 27, 2024.
Failure to submit slideshow on this date and time will result in a grade reduction of 5 points per group. Three
additional points will be deducted from each group member’s final grade for each day this submission is late.

The slideshow displayed on the day of presentation must be the same as that which was submitted to the
teacher. If different, a minimum of 5 points will be deducted from each group’s final grade. The number of
points deducted will depend on the content difference.
OUTLINE:
Each group must compose a detailed outline of the presentation. See Schoology for outline information.
Your outline will be graded; this grade will constitute 10% of your presentation grade (see outline rubric for specifics). See
Schoology for information on composing an outline.

Your outline in its FINAL FORM must be submitted on or before 8 AM on February 27, 2024.

Five points will be deducted for late submission; no outlines will be accepted more than one day past the due date.
Therefore, each group member will receive a zero on this component of the presentation if the outline is not submitted by
Feb. 27, 2024.

Use of the outline feature of the slideshow is an unacceptable substitute for an outline-no credit will be given for such a
submission.

An outline with more detail will result in a higher score.

At least 2 credible sources must be used and cited (on the outline) as a resource for the presentation.
Content Question (not to be included in the presentation):
Each Group will submit 5 questions with corresponding answers pertaining to their presentation topic. These questions, if
posed, would assess the audience’s knowledge of the subject presented.
Questions must be relevant and thoughtful.
Questions will constitute 5% of the group’s final grade.
Questions must be typed.
Questions submitted without corresponding answers will receive half-credit.
Handwritten submissions will receive no credit.
Questions are due on Feb. 27, 2024, at 8 AM. Late submissions will receive half credit.
No questions/answers will be accepted after Feb. 28, 2024. These questions are NOT to be posed during your presentation.
Doing so will result in a 3-point deduction on your presentation.

See PRESENTATION RUBRIC & OUTLINE RUBRICS for grading.

NOTE: Students are expected to come to class with access to their slideshow. Without such, 3 points will be deducted from final
presentation grade. Tardiness to class on the assignment due date will deem all work submitted on that day to be late.
