7. Jayda bought a car for $3500 last April. By December the value of the car decreased by
18%.

b. What was the value of her car in December?

8. At Belinda’s restaurant Belinda marks the meal price up by 250%. Caleb buys a meal
that costs Belinda $7.25 to produce.

c. What would Caleb pay in total if 5% GST is also added to the meal cost?

9. Sam and Capri are shopping for televisions. They find the same TV in two different
stores with different sales promotions.
● Sam’s deal: Retail Price $525 plus GST (5%). After your purchase you receive a
mail in discount of $150.
● Capri’s deal: Retail Price $575 is on sale at 35% off. After the discount you still
have to pay the GST (5%).
Determine who got the better deal.
