DONNING

DOFFING
1. Ensure that a Trained Observer is available to verify compliance
with all steps. 1. Inspect PPE for visible contamination or tears.
2. Ensure that all the needed supplies are available. 2. Disinfect outer gloves.
3. Prepare for donning of PPE. 3. Remove apron.
4. Inspect PPE Items prior to putting on. 4. Inspect the PPE again.
5. Put on boot covers. 5. Disinfect outer gloves.
6. Perform hand hygiene. 6. Remove the boot covers.
7. Put on inner gloves. 7. Disinfect outer gloves.
8. Put on cover-all/gown. 8. Remove outer gloves.
9. Make thumb holes at the border of the cuff and sleeves. 9. Inspect and disinfect inner gloves.
10. Put on N95 Respirator. 10. Remove goggles.
11. Perform seal check. 11. Disinfect inner gloves.
12. Put on hood. 12. Remove hood.
13. Put on outer apron. 13. Disinfect inner gloves.
14. Put on outer gloves. 14. Remove coverall.
15. Put on face shield or goggles. 15. Disinfect inner gloves.
16. Let the trained observer check the worn PPE. 16. Change inner gloves.
17. Perform hand hygiene.
18. Put on a new pair of gloves.
19. Remove N95 Respirator.
20. Disinfect gloves.
21. Disinfect washable boots.
22. Disinfect and remove gloves.
23. Perform hand hygiene.
24. Inspect for any contamination.
