Course objectives:
The objective of the project work in the second semester of MBA programme is to help
the student to develop research ability and learn to solve organisational problems by
using appropriate research methods and required research tools.

Scope of the Project Report

During the Second semester each student of MBA programme of CSJM University shall
carry out an intensive study of a topic in the particular area of research by collection of
data through a survey instrument and analysing the data to develop suitable
interpretation. The data collected should be primary i.e., gathered by your own
observation in a particular setting under the supervision of an Internal Supervisor to be
nominated by the Director of the School. Two copies of the Project Report, along with a
soft copy will be submitted before the commencement of semester- end examination.
Project report evaluation carrying 100 marks and viva- voce examination of 50 marks
will be conducted by the examiners appointed by the University.

Proposal Formulation

Project should be prepared in consultation with the allotted internal Supervisor. Synopsis
of the topic of the selected project should be shared with the Supervisor. The synopsis
should clearly state the topic, objectives and research methodology of the proposed
project to be undertaken. It should have full details of the sampling, tools and techniques
to be used, significance and limitations of the study.

Topics could pertain to specific contemporary problems in the areas of General


Management, Financial Management/ Banking, HR Management, Marketing
Management or Operations Management.

Guidelines for preparation of Project

 Topic of the project should be such that the project work should bring about an
improvement in the present status of an activity in different domains of
organizational functioning.

 The project report should take into account factual data which is relevant to the
situation.

 The Project Work undertaken should be authentic and should contribute towards
the development and growth of the subject.

 Certificate indicating originality of the work done must be attached.

 Methodology adopted for the study should be carefully scrutinized to avoid risk
of biased analysis. Research Methodology will comprise of Sampling,
Preparation of a Questionnaire for Collection of Data, Pilot study or Pre-testing,
Processing of Data and Framework for Analysis.

 Certificate issued by the organization is to be attached.

Chapter listing of Project Report

 The cover page on the bound copy of the report should indicate:
• The title of the report in capital letters.
• The name of the student, class and section, and Roll number.
• Name and designation of the faculty member who has guided you.
• Name and designation of the person of the organisation who has guided
you.
• Name of the School and University.

 Certificate issued by the organization
 Declaration by the student countersigned by the supervisor
 Plagiarism Report
 Table of contents
 Chapter-1: Introduction of the problem
 Chapter-2: Theoretical Perspective
 Chapter-3: Research Methodology

Specifications for writing Project Report


The Report should have a Cover Page
The length of the project report may be about 50 to 60 typed pages
Good quality white A4 size executive bond paper should be used for typing
The chapters are to be numbered as Chapter-1, Chapter-2 etc.
Page Specifications
o Left Margin : 1.25 inch
o Right Margin : 1.25 inch
o Top Margin : 1 inch
o Bottom Margin : 1 inch
Font Size 12, Times New Roman, 1.5 Spacing
