GUIDELINES FOR COLLEGE VIDEO PRESENTATION

Activity Description:
In this college video presentation, students in each college will work collaboratively to
create a short introduction about their college that highlights the unique aspects of their
department. This project provides an opportunity to combine creative storytelling with an
informative approach to effectively communicate the department's strengths to a wider
audience.

Objectives:
 To develop an understanding about their college department.
 To apply storytelling techniques to engage and captivate the audience.
 To showcase the department's faculty, students, and facilities.
 To create a visually engaging and informative film.
 To emphasize team collaboration to achieve a shared vision.
 To present the film to the college community.

Guidelines:
1. Each department will only have one video presentation that highlights the unique aspects of
their department.
2. The video will have a minimum duration of one (1) minute and shall not exceed two (2)
minutes.
3. Every 10 seconds in excess shall mean five-point deduction.
4. Any profanity or sensitive subject matter which is against the school’s rules and policies
shall mean disqualification.
5. Develop a well-structured script that includes engaging dialogue, clear plot progression, and
a compelling narrative arc.
6. Create a storyboard that visually outlines each scene, camera angles, and shot composition.
7. The content of the video presentation must be captured within the school campus.
8. Edit the footage to create a coherent and engaging final product. Pay close attention to the
pacing, transitions, and audio quality.
9. Enhance the film with appropriate sound effects, music, and clear dialogue.
10. Submit the college’s entry at [email protected] on or before August 30, 2023,
Wednesday.
11. The videos shall be posted on the official Facebook page of the MDC SSG on September 1,
2023. Reacts and views shall be counted within that day from 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM for the
Social Media Award.
Rubrics and Criteria:
Note: The following rubrics are divided into categories, each with a score range and specific
criteria.

1. Content and Information (30 points)


 Accuracy and legitimacy of information presented.
 Inclusion of faculty, students, and facilities.
 Relevance of content to the department's identity and goals.
2. Visual Presentation (25 points)
 Quality of cinematography, framing, and camera work.
 Use of B-roll footage to visually enhance storytelling.
 Effective incorporation of graphics and text.
3. Narrative and Storytelling (25 points)
 Coherent narrative structure and flow.
 Engaging storytelling that maintains audience interest.
 Effective use of interviews and voiceovers.
4. Technical Execution (20 points)
 Editing quality, transitions, and pacing.
 Audio quality, including clear voiceovers and balanced sound.

Total Score: 100 points
