Dear Students
Vacation is the time that we all eagerly wait for. We all make plans to enjoy, relax and
empower ourselves during these gala days. It is also the time for the children to explore
their myriad interests and indulge in various activities which would lead to their all-round
development. Keeping the same in mind, the school has incorporated integrated project-
based learning wherein students will prepare projects for all the subjects based on a
common theme.
This endeavour has been taken up with the objective of inculcating the approach of
integrating diverse subjects or fields and the spirit of collaborative learning. The activity
based assignments will foster curiosity, develop creativity, enhance knowledge and instil
the joy of learning among the students. This will certainly help them to become more
confident performing every action to the perfection.

of the metal are moving in the same direction?
24. Show on a graph the variation of resistivity with temperature for a typical semiconductor.
25. Two wires of equal length, one of copper and the other of manganin have the same resistance. Which

26. A 5 V battery of negligible internal resistance is connected across a 200 V battery and a resistance of
39 Ω as shown in the figure. Find the value of the current
27. Define the term „electrical conductivity‟ of a metallic wire. Write its S.I. unit.
28. The network PQRS, shown m the circuit diagram has the batteries of 5 V and 10 V and negligible

11.The solution of a non volatile solute boils at a higher temperature than the pure solvent. Show this
relationship on a graphic diagram. (or) Why is the boiling point of solvent elevated when a non volatile
solute is added to it?
12. With the help of a neat diagram, indicate why the solution of a non volatile solute should freeze at
a temperature lower than the freezing point of the pure solvent? (or) Why is the freezing point of a
solvent be depressed when a non volatile solute is added to it?
13.How can you say that osmotic pressure is a colligative property? How can it be used to determine
the molecular mass of a non volatile solute?
14. What is meant by abnormal molecular mass of solute? Discuss the factors which bring
abnormality in the experimentally determined molecular masses of solutes using colligative
properties.
16. Define the following terms. Mass percentage, Mass percentage, Mass by volume percentage, Parts
per million, Mole fraction, Molarity, Molality.
18. Define the term solution. How many types of solutions are formed? Write briefly about each type
with an example.
19. Suppose a solid solution is formed between two substances, one whose particles are very large
and the other whose particles are very small. What kind of solid solution is this likely to be?
