A Special Day
We started our summer vacation two weeks late. My two brothers and I finished school two weeks
ago. My mum, who works as a teacher, wasn't able to start her vacation with us because she had to
work extra time as her friend was sick. Now that her friend was finally well, she was able to start her
vacation. My father told us to wait for a special surprise. We were all excited. Dad and Mum went
shopping and came back carrying some bags. They didn't let us know what was in the bags. Both of
my brothers thought we were travelling to another country, but I didn't, because mum didn't prepare
any bags till then. The following day, Mum and Dad asked us to get dressed as we were going
somewhere special. We got ready fast and started moving towards the car, when Dad called us to the
backyard and to our surprise there were 5 sleeping bags and a huge telescope by the river bank. We
spent that afternoon fishing and we caught a big fish. Mum started cooking dinner; my brothers
helped her clean the fish, I set the table and Dad made the salad. We saw the stars through a
telescope for the first time that night. We sang songs, played chess and finally slept in the sleeping
bags. It was a really special day.
