1. Using superposition theorem, find the current and voltage across the 10 Ω resistor in Fig. 1. [08]

2. For the network in Fig. 2: [10]


(a) For the circuit across to the terminal a & b, find RTh and ETh applying Thévenin’s theorem.
(b) Hence draw the Thévenin equivalent circuit.
(c) Find IN and RN applying Norton’s theorem across to the terminal a & b.
(d) Hence draw the Norton equivalent circuit.

(a) Determine the time constant for charging and discharging phase.
(b) Find the value of vC and iC once the switch is closed to position 1 at t=1τ, 3τ, 5τ.
(c) Find the value of vC and iC once the switch is closed to position 3 after t=220 ms at 1τ, 3τ.
(d) Sketch the waveform of vC vs t for the charging phase at t=1τ, 3τ, 5τ.
