By using stratified sampling I will then only use a fair amount of data according to the percentage
that I’m comfortable with. So, I will be able to estimate the averages much easier using these graphs
rather than using tables. So, because of this, the formula that I will be using will be this. There are
many reasons why using official statistics can be useful as they are readily available and provide
detailed data which can often include large numbers of participants giving information. Using the
new set of data, I will collate the data in frequency tables (to display all of the frequency
distributions), in order to enable easy interpretation and analysis. Each holiday has 1
passage.)Finding the main idea and supporting details has never been easier. These entries were
numbered and then using a calculator and the random button the sample names were collected. e.g
Set 1: RND ? 26 gave 13.346. This converts to 14th name using the rounding up method. This will
allow me to create diagrams such as the cumulative frequency polygons and calculate, for example,
the standard deviation much easier and quicker. My maths coursework is based on a spreadsheet with
information about cars. Each phonics passage also builds fluency and comprehension. With this, I
expect there to be more extreme data from year 7 than year 11. The types of cars are: small cars,
executive cars and sports cars. I think doing my investigation on computer would give a better
pictorial view than by hand. It is used to find the extent to which two sets of data correlate. To
answer this question I have posed the hypothesis House Prices for 3 bedroom detached houses in the
North of England are cheaper than those in the s. Set 5 boys did not do the same exam so these boys
will not be sampled. The year group that has the most consistent attendance was the Year 8 with an
interquartile range of 9.3333, while the Year 9 have the widest range of attendance as it has an
interquartile range of 16.0457. Another interesting factor is that the Year 7s and the Year 11s again,
have the same interquartile range of 11. It shows that more people underestimated than
overestimated. Stratified sampling is used when there is a large amount of data that is needed to be
process. This shows that the overall attendance for the particular academic year is very good. Simply
print and go.These decodable passages will help your students practice the phonics patterns you're
teaching them.Perfect for centers, homework, morning work, and more. This will nearly always be
the case because there will always be cars that gain with mileage and those that will lose money with
mileage. My third hypothesis was half correct boys did make an improvement but the girls fell
behind the results in KS3. Time is running out to grab the best deal of the year. This could be shown
much evidently by using the box and whiskers diagram. It's Science of Reading aligned for over 230
High Frequency words. Even if you have inherited your course or are revising your existing one, it is
still worthwhile to map it out in this manner. Post a reading report on this discussion board forum
answering the following questions: 1. I only have 52 results for girls as the High School wouldn't
allow the experiment to be carried out in lessons. I also think that this would be the opposite in any
other school.
Looking at my first hypothesis, I am right, the Year 10 and 11 should have a higher attendance as
they are in their GCSE years. By using histograms, I am then able to see the shape of the
distribution, whether it has a symmetrical distribution and positive or negative skew. I think that the
best way to portray mathematical ability is to take their most recent exam result. Excludes laboratory,
independent study, research and seminar courses. The correlation coefficient is -0.3979. This shows a
low degree of negative correlation between the two variables. Paragraph of the Week, a weekly
paragraph writing practice system, will provide your students with LOTS of practice opportunities in
writing well-organized paragraphs in a fun and enjoyable way. Nevertheless, the students that are
within their exam years should have a much higher attendance percentage than those who don’t. The
pupils will enter a room and look at a straight line and a non straight line and ask them to estimate it
in mm. All data related to this scatter graph can be found in the results box. Every person has used
the same facilities, books and material and the teachers have all been taught using the same course.
This shows that the overall attendance for the particular academic year is very good. For each
question I will use a certain sample of year 10's at Stamford Endowed schools. The reason I have
chose to investigate this type of business venture is because I take an interest in this type of business
as I would like to look into it in the future, and also feel Maidenhead possesses the qualities, and
provides a great opportunity to start up a business of this nature and for it to be successful. The y on
x regression line is the same as the line of best fit. So, I will be able to estimate the averages much
easier using these graphs rather than using tables. For example, you may want to note where an
online article you plan to assign may be found, so you don’t need to hunt for the URL later, or write
a brief description of what a particular assessment might be (e.g., “500-word analysis of data”). They
are symmetric with scores more concentrated in the middle than in the tails. I will analyse all of the
data in a more depth by doing standard deviation and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient that
will allow me to compare and analyse the data properties using different methods. Research,
statistics, primary, and secondary data are imperative in psychological analysis. I also excluded
hyphenated words as these tend to be easier to read. I think that this counts for both girls and boys.”
To prove this I will use a correlation graph and also spearman’s Rank Correlation. The first word
selected was the fifth, the second word the tenth, the third word the fifteenth and so on. Our school
is an all Boys school but there is a Girls school right next to us. I think doing my investigation on
computer would give a better pictorial view than by hand. Then, I’ve used the RANDOM button on
the scientific calculator to get a smaller new set of data from the original data. I only have 52 results
for girls as the High School wouldn't allow the experiment to be carried out in lessons. The higher
the standard deviation the more spread out the curve is. Alternative hypothesis: Practice doesn't
improve the estimate of a non-straight line. I took the next word from each of those paragraphs. It is
used to find the extent to which two sets of data correlate.
I cannot use 49.2 because I am taking 20% out of 246 students (it is a discrete quantitative data) and
you can’t have 49.2 students. However, I can’t round it down to 49 because then it will mean that 0.2
of a student is missing, so I will round it up to 50 instead. Then, I’ve used the RANDOM button on
the scientific calculator to get a smaller new set of data from the original data. If r s is close to zero,
the ranks is neither agreeable nor disagreeable. This also applies for the GCSE students (Year 10s and
11s); just because the student is taking their GCSE it doesn’t mean that their attendance is going to
be a full 100% (even though it should be like that). This will allow me to create diagrams such as the
cumulative frequency polygons and calculate, for example, the standard deviation much easier and
quicker. Firstly I will do Fords, as they are the most numerous of all the cars in the table. I will only
be using 20% of the attendance figures from each year. You have seen that the girls beat the boys in
their Key Stage 2 exams but the boys beat the girls in the Key stage 3 exams. I did predict that the
girls would beat the boys in their Key Stage 2 exams but they did not in their KS3 exams. I did not
think that the boys would beat them I thought that they will still be a nudge under. Below is a table
demonstrating the differences between the mean figures and the median figures for each year.
Sampling I need to sample to get the results for Mathematical ability. It is a well rated school for its
grades it achieves, it is one of the best Boys School in the whole of the U.K. We study Statistics
during the whole of Year 10. Year 10 at Stamford School and Stamford High School represent a
small sample of year 10 pupils in England. This gives me a total of 90 results which will be used in
questions 3 and 4 as well as this one. I will also need to see the correlations between Age and Price,
and the correlations between, Mileage and Price. I think that this counts for both girls and boys.” To
prove this I will use a correlation graph and also spearman’s Rank Correlation. I used the systematic
sample for choosing the counties’ as it is easy, quick and fair way of sampling, I used this method
instead of stratified sampling as this is a simpler sampling method and it is less time consuming. You
will notice that the class intervals are different in each table. Also I would like to link all of the
results in a much clearer way. Introducing the Modern Calm Colors Classroom Decor Bundle. Please
email from your CUNY email address if possible. The amount or size of the sample is in proportion
to the size of each category within the whole data. Set 5 boys did not do the same exam so these
boys will not be sampled. The reason I am doing these calculations is because these are the specific
outlier calculations for a skewed distribution, we know I have a skewed distribution because this is
what my box and whisker plot indicated. All pupils will have used a ruler before so they will know
the approximate length of 30cm and 15cm lines. I took the next word from each of those paragraphs.
The bell shaped curve has the highest point is in the middle of the curve where the line of symmetry
(the mean) while smoothly curving symmetrical slopes on both sides of the centre, which makes it
looks like a bell. By using histograms, I am then able to see the shape of the distribution, whether it
has a symmetrical distribution and positive or negative skew. I will find mean, median, mode and
range for some certain makes of cars, from the data I have been given. Conclusion: In answer to my
aim, I think the student's favourite choices have not differed much nonetheless; the students have
become more diverse suggesting a more mature outlook. I have been given instructions to collect data
for my GCSE statistics cours.
The Standard Deviation will show how accurate my mean is. I think that the girls would come with
good results because they are more intellectually clever at the age of 11 than boys. I think that this is
because an older car would have been driven more than a new car and therefore it would be a higher
mileage. I think this because as the year 11 pupils are older they would have had more experience
with numeric problems and would be more mature than those in year 7 would. This showed that the
broadsheet contained more of the shorter words than the tabloid and the tabloid contained more of
the longer words. By doing the standard deviation I am then able to see the Normal distribution for
each year and also compare them with each other and see much more clearly which year group have
a higher attendance figure. I decided to go to the girl’s school and ask at reception for SATs the
results and I was given them to me the next day. I wanted to see if they are right if not I will be able
to prove them wrong. It is also useful for estimating how much more or less there is than a certain
amount. I think doing my investigation on computer would give a better pictorial view than by hand.
I will be investigating whether the age of the students affects their attendance figures at school and
does it affect their learning and exam results as well. The difficulty is finding out which shape would
cover the maximum area of land using the fencing with a fixed perimeter. Graphs like the normal
distribution curves are ever so important in these type of investigation especially because the graph
itself summarise so many vital information such as the. Then I will also analyse all of these graphs
and diagrams and actually come to a conclusion that tells me all the information I need (e.g. which
year group have the best attendance figures) for this investigation. On excel I would eliminate the
outlier if I need to get a better line of best fit. If I have a chance to do this coursework again, I would
like to do it using the full data to make it more specific and possibly use other graphs and diagrams
to display the data. Boys did make a better improvement then the Girls. I will now remove the
outliers because they are skewing my data to make the trendline inaccurate, I will also add the
formula of the graph on to the trendline. I will do this using the method of stratified sampling. Not to
be biased I am going to stratify my data to keep the boys and girls in proportion. This will nearly
always be the case because there will always be cars that gain with mileage and those that will lose
money with mileage. This is because the mean is affected by the extreme values within the data while
the median only take in the middle 50% of the data and calculates the average using that data, which
is much more accurate (in terms of average). I think that this is because our school is an all Boys
school, if it was a mixed school I do not think that the boys would have made a better improvement
than the girls. Also I can use specific makes of cars to compare how quickly the car price decreases.
The bell shaped curve has the highest point is in the middle of the curve where the line of symmetry
(the mean) while smoothly curving symmetrical slopes on both sides of the centre, which makes it
looks like a bell. Below are the standard deviations for the rest of the year groups. These activities
are perfect for distance learning, morning work, math centers, early finishers, substitutes, and
homework. Are there any campus or program templates for developing and organizing content.
These worksheets are great for no-prep practice of the 7 most common types of figurative language.
Question 1 Is the ability to estimate the length of a straight line related to mathematical ability.
