Definition No. 01

Research is a careful and detailed study into a specific problem, concern, or


issue using the scientific method. This is best accomplished by turning the issue
into a question, with the intent of the research to answer the question. [1]

Research comprises “creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order

Research is a very general term for an activity that involves finding out, in a
more or less systematic way, things you did not know (the issues). A more
academic interpretation is that research involves finding out about things that
no-one else knew either. It is about advancing the frontiers of knowledge.[4]
