package used for data entry,
organization and sorting of data as
well as visualizations to describe
trends.

It is also used for basic to complex

mathematical calculations.

DATA TYPES IN EXCEL
THERE ARE 4 DATA TYPES PRESENT IN
MICROSOFT EXCEL, NAMELY:
TEXT
LOGICALS
NUMBER
ERROR
When creating formulas in
excel always begin with an
equal to sign "="
RELATIVE REFERENCING
Relative referencing does not contain a
dollor sign e.g A4.
CELL REFERENCING In excel, cells are relative by default

There are basically 2 ways of referencing a cell
Relative referencing
Absolute Referencing
SORTING AND FILTERING
WHEN WORKING WITH DATA , YOUR
DATA NEEDS TO BE STRUCTURED. THAT
IS WHERE SORTING AND FILTERING
COMES IN.
CONDITIONAL FORMATTING
Conditional formatting helps to make
trends and patterns in your more
obvious.

Based on certain conditions inputted by

the user, the conditional formatting
automatically functions to meet that
specific condition.
PIVOT TABLE
You may compare, summarize, and
analyze data with the help of a pivot
table, which is an effective tool for doing
so.

They help streamline and

communicate our findings better

SUMMARY OF OUR
LEARNINGS

We discussed the different data types present in Microsoft excel

We learnt how to clean data, through sorting and filtering,

We also learnt how to create pivot tables for summary.

Lastly, we created a dashboard to display our findings.
