Schedule for Payment of Academic Fees by on-roll PG/Ph.D. Students for the Spring Semester 2023-24
All PG/Ph.D. students are required to pay their fees for Spring Semester 2023-24 as per the following schedule. Detailed
fee structure is enclosed for a quick reference.
Payment of fees for Spring Sem 2023-2024 1 Oct 2023 (Sunday) – 30 Dec 2023 (Saturday)
Payment of fees for Spring Sem 2023-2024
31 Dec 2023 (Sunday) – 11 Jan 2024 (Thursday)
(with fine of Rs.1000/-)
Payment of Fees with fine of Rs. 200/- per day
12 Jan 2024 (Friday) till the date of payment of fees
(in addition to Rs.1000/- fine)
Spring Semester 2023-24 registration is linked with fee payment. For registration, student must pay all fees that are
pending till previous semesters AND semester fees for the current semester (Spring Semester 2023-24).
• All students (except students paying through a Bank Loan/ Sponsoring Agency) need to pay fees using “online
portal” (http://portal.iitb.ac.in/asc)
• Instructions for online fee payment are made available on ASC home page (http://www.iitb.ac.in/asc). Students
should use payment methods other than UPI, for payment greater than 1 lakh , due to daily UPI limits.
• Students paying fees through online portal must ensure that their transaction is completed in all respects.
• Students under SC / ST / PwD category are exempted from the payment of Tuition Fees.
• Research Scholars who are submitting their Ph.D. thesis on or before the 1 st day of Spring Semester (2023-24)
registration, need not to pay fees for Spring Semester 2023-24.
{ Students paying fees through (a) Bank Loan, OR (b) Sponsoring Agency (Private / Government) are permitted to pay
the fees directly to IIT Bombay Bank account. Such students should request the Bank/ Sponsoring Agency to transfer
the Fee amount directly to IIT Bombay Bank account (https://www.iitb.ac.in/newacadhome/bankAccount.jsp), at least
10 days prior to last date of fee payment [ i.e. by 20 Dec 2023 (Wednesday)], as reconciliation takes 5-7 working days
and Spring Semester 2023-24 registration is linked up with fee payment.}
The fee receipts will be generated only after reconciliation, which takes 5-7 working days. Students need to collect the fee
receipt in person from the Cash Section, 1st Floor, Main Building, IIT Bombay.

Important Notes for PG students wrt Academic Fees
The Academic Fee structure and total payable academic fees for Indian national students are given at Flag-1
(for new entrants) and Flag-2 (for onroll students). For International students the Academic fee structure
and total payable is given in Flag-3 (for new entrants) and Flag-4 (For onroll students). Indian national
students should also refer the Table-1 (below) which describes the distribution of Groups (I & II)– for students
under admission category whom the “Concessional Tution Fee” and “Non-concesssional Tuition Fee” are
applicable.
• In general, at the time of admission, NEW ENTRANTS students have to pay the “Academic fees”
calculated as Admission fees (Non refundable – to be paid one time) + Refundable Deposits (to be paid
one time) + Semester fees (to be paid every semester). [REFER FLAG-1 for Indian National.]
• The ONROLL Students (Indian National students) have to pay the semester fees (to be paid every
semester), depending upon their admission caterogy (as per below table), to the programme they are
registered in a particular semester and as applicable to their batch. Students admitted to the Dual

Degrees programmes (M.Tech./MPP/MPhil/M.Sc./MA+PhD) have to pay fees as per Masters’
programme till successful completion of Research Proposal/Conversion to the Ph.D. programme and
thereafter, have to pay fees as applicable to the Ph.D. programme. [REFER FLAG-2 For Indian
National students.]
• Pls. Refer to the applicable batch for “Tuition Fee” (applicable up-to 2021 Batch & applicable for
2022 Batch onwards).
• “Tuition Fee” component is charged as per MoU for "Steel Technology Centre" & “INS Shivaji”
Students.
• Students permitted to take ‘Temporary withdrawal’ from the programme for one or more semesters,
are required to pay Rs. 3000/- as a continuation fee per semester.
• International Students at the time of admission, should pay “Academic fees” as mentioned in
FLAG-3 (for NEW ENTRANTS), as applicable to their programme and ONROLL International
students should pay Semester “Academic fees” as mentioned in FLAG-4, as applicable to their
programme and batch.
• International Students from SAARC countries, includes students from Afghanistan, Pakistan,
Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives). International students from countries other than the
above mentioned are considered as Non-SAARC.
• Fee component (“Other Specified Fees” (Only for MBA)) includes library, teaching aid,
computational facilities, etc.
• For any query related to hostel fees / hostel room allotment / payment/refund of hostel fees
etc., students are required to write to Assistant Registrar- HCU ( [email protected]), HCU office
([email protected]).
• $ - [The Students of Mtech/MPP/Mphil+PhD have to pay fees : Masters fees as applicable upto
successful completion of their Research Proposal & PhD fees as applicable after successful completion
of their Research Proposal. The students of M.Sc./MA+PhD have to pay fees : Masters’ fee as
applicable upto 2nd year & PhD fees applicable from 3rd year onwards.]
