CADvent Plus 5.0 - Manual

This document provides instructions for drawing piping systems in CADvent+. It describes how to: 1. Set up a new piping system by selecting the discipline, system type, pipe series, and other settings. 2. Draw vertical pipes by selecting the discipline and height, and drawing between elevations. 3. Draw pipe routes by drawing the first pipe along the route including any height changes, then using parallel pipes to add additional pipes at set distances along the same route.

CADvent selects the current system, size and colour for

the selected discipline.

5. To change size, select S,

and type the new size.
CADvent selects the
closest size available in
the pipe series belonging
to the system. If not the
exact size can be
selected the first larger is
selected.

6. To go to new height,

Draw pipe route

There are many ways to draw a pipe route depending on how
many pipes that shall be drawn and what height they shall
reside on.
Alternative 1. A few pipes in the pipe route

1. Draw 1 pipe, as far as

possible, including height
changes.
2. Use after that
parallel pips to put out
the other pipes in the
route.
3. Pick start- and end point
of the pipe in the route
that shall be copied.

4. Select system and

system type for the new
pipe.
5. Select OK

6. Pick or type the distance

– together with activated
Ortho - between the
pipes, select side to
place the offset.

Repeat step 3-6 until the

pipe route is complete

Example
The pipe is placed
parallel with the original
pipe at a distance of 200
mm.
The elevation change in
the route was also
included in the parallel
offset copy. The size of
the pipes is set by the
system data in the
system setting dialogue.

5
CADvent+ piping

These sizes can easily

be changed with the
function

”Properties”

6

the pipes that shall be
included in the route.

2. Select ’Continue from’

3. Pick the end of the pipe

that shall lead the route.

4. Select M for (Multi) on

the command line while
having the ’Continue’-

all the pipes are selected.

7. Continue to draw the

route with the active
’Continue’-command.
Remark! Only pipes at the same elevation can be included.

Tip!
Use the command ”copy and draw” to fast and easily draw new
pipes in different systems and sizes than the ones in the
system settings.

position.
7 Rotate.

When a ventilation system is active the pipe components aren’t

possible to insert. CADvent responds, ”Wrong system”.

General components

In general components
all components except
the radiators are

another way to select the
right component.

When the component is

selected, insert it to the
drawing. The pipes that
are selected are broken
