COURSE DESCRIPTION This is an overview of the home economics descriptions including philosophy, areas of
specialization, role in societal development. It includes history of philosophy of home economics, areas
of specialization and careers, family life and household resource management

COURSE LEARNING At the end of the course, the students must have:

 The BTVTEd is designed to meet the needs of professional teachers who can teach in one of the different
fields of specializations/ learning areas in TVET and higher education institutions like automotive technology,
Toted GOALS electronics technology, electrical technology, food and service management, garments, fashion and design, among
others.
PROGRAM LEARNING As per CMO No. 79 s. 2017, sec 6.3 graduates of BTVTEd degree should be able to:
OUTCOMES 1. Demonstrate the competencies required of the Philippine TVET Trainers-Assessors Qualification
Framework (PTTQF);
2. Demonstrate broad and coherent, meaningful knowledge and skills in any of the specific fields in
technical and vocational education;
3. Apply with minimal supervision specialized knowledge and skills in any of the specific fields in technical
and vocational education;
4. Demonstrate higher level literacy, communication, numeracy, critical thinking, learning skills needed for
higher learning;
5. Manifest deep and principled understanding of the learning processes and the role of the teacher in
facilitating these processes in their students;
6. Show deep and principled understanding of how educational processes relate to larger historical, social,
cultural and political processes;
7. Apply wide range of teaching process skills (including curriculum development, lesson planning,
materials development, educational assessment and teaching approaches);
8. Reflect on the relationships among the teaching process skills, the learning processing in the students,
the nature of the content/subject matter, and other factors affecting educational processes in order to
constantly improve their teaching knowledge, skills and practices.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND CLASS POLICY

Course Requirements Each student is required to:
1) attend at least 80% of the class hours (i.e., at least 29 hrs)
2) submit individual/group assignments

5) Pass the major exams.
