Full marks: 50 Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

(i) Answer questions of each half in one place
(ii) The questions are of equal value
(iii) Answer Four questions taking any Two from each half
(iv) One mark reserved for neatness in each half
(v) Upload Answer scripts by 5:50pm

FIRST HALF
(Answer any two questions)
1. a) What are the super-node and super-mesh concepts? Where are these used?
b) Find the Thevenin equivalent circuit at the terminals A-B in the circuit of Fig. 1.

Fig. 1.

c) Find the value of load impedance Z for which maximum power will flow through
the load. [4+6+2]

2. a) State and explain Millman’s Theorem for multiple current sources.

b) Find the Z-parameters of the network shown in Fig. 2.

Fig. 2.
c) Find suitable parameters of the h-parameters of the network shown in Fig. 3.

(2)

3. a) A two-port network has the following impedances: Z1O = (250 + j100) ohm, Z2O =
200 ohm, Z1S = (400 + j300) ohm. Determine the Z-parameters of the equivalent
T-network.
b) The circuit shown in Fig. 3, is a combination of two interconnected networks.
Identify the interconnected networks and hence find the T-parameters of the
resultant network.
