Health Care Essay Topics

The document discusses irrigation methods used in Napa Valley vineyards. It notes the variety of soil types in the region formed by geological events over millions of years. Grape farmers must choose irrigation carefully to reduce soil salinity while providing enough water for vines. Drip irrigation is widely used as it applies water directly to roots, using less water and controlling the amount for each vine. However, it can lead to salt accumulation so farmers also flush soils to remove salts from mountain water sources and irrigation.

West Side Story Play Analysis
West Side Story is about a conflict between two rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks,
which comes to a head when Tony, a former Jets member, and Maria, the sister of the
leader of the Sharks, fall in love. Although the play centers around Tony and Maria, the
character of Anita (played by Karli Dinardo) caught my eye since she revealed her
purple dress which was different from the reds of the Sharks and blues of the Jets and
I found myself drawn to her in each scene she was present in. I also found myself
drawn to members of the Sharks as I understood the racism they faced from members of
the Jets, Officer Krupke, and Detective Schrank. The characters of Tony and Mariawere
actually the characters I didn t really like as I saw them both as selfish.... Show more

I found that many of the actors in West Side Story vocals fit well with their characters
such as Carly Evans soprano like voice that seemed so innocent to the world just like
Maria. The orchestra ability to match the emotions of the song or scene was very
beneficial in letting the audience know of Tony and Maria s undying love for each other
in Tonight through the use of light and upbeat notes or Anita s anger in A Boy Like That
which uses harsher notes. The effects of the characters emotions would not have been
as evident if the instrumentals they sang along too didn t match the emotions they
felt. Although the play is surrounded by dark themes, there are musical numbers with a
tinge of comedic value such as in America where Rosalia praises Puerto Rico through
phrases such as Puerto Rico, you lovely island and Anita retorts back Puerto Rico, you
ugly island or Gee Officer Krupke where the Jets are joking as to what to say to
Officer Krupke ending the song with Gee, Officer Krupke. Krup you! . In many of the
musical numbers, there seems to be a kid friendly approach as profanity is nowhere to
be found with the replacement of words such as Buggin in the Jet Songs although slurs
such as spic and brown boy fill the script. Besides the musical numbers, there were also

Tolstoy And Paul Tillich s Analysis
Plato states, We are twice armed if we fight with faith. meaning that Faith is the
compelling force that strengthens us. Faith is said to be the driving force within our
lives. But to know how and why faith is such a significant power we must first
understand what it is. Faith is what guides us on our finite path of life, for faithis our
significant reason for living. The hope that our death will open the doors to the infinite
is what drives us to lead a moral life and make moral decisions. This concept of faith
has ruled all life throughout history and has caused humans to make moral decisions
and live moral lives. Philosophers such as Leo Tolstoy, and Paul Tillich believe in faith,
in such a way, while Freud believes that faith is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He has been seen to discourage the complete trust within faith because of how the
infinite forces humans to cast away their primal nature and subject themselves to an
unreal force. To defend his stance he says I have drawn back the curtain from the
corruption of man. In my mouth, this word is at least free of one suspicion: that it
might involve a moral accusation of man. It is meant let me emphasize this once more
moraline free. (Nietzsche, 572) Nietzsche is stating that he proving that faith is not a
good influence, instead it is a corrupting influence that forces humans to submit. This
infinite force commands people to cast away their values for new ones that they haven t
developed for themselves. Even though Nietzsche believes that the believers of the
infinite have not developed their own values, he is wrong for they know that their values
can still exist within faith. To combat the latter thought Nietzsche goes on to claim Pity
is the practice of Nihilism. To repeat: this depressive and contagious instinct crosses
those instincts which aim at the preservation of life and at the enhancement of its value.
(Nietzsche, 573) Nietzsche is on a mission to prove that faith does not influence living a
meaningful and moral life. He claims that faith is just a way for humans to justify feeling
pity towards others. Nietzsche is incredibly convinced that faith is pointless, but he

Persuasive Essay On The Iraq War
The U.S. military is the largest and most powerful military in the history of the world.
When the U.S. must use this military might to invade another country, the President and
senior elected officials have a responsibility to ensure the reasoning behind the invasion
is ironclad and as transparent as possible. War should be a last resort, and those in the
position of power need exhaust all diplomatic channels first. Unfortunately this powerful
sense of duty was not abided by during the lead up to the Iraqinvasion. Senior officials
in the Bush administration deliberately deceived the public by using manipulative and
inaccurate intelligence information in order to gain public approval for the invasion of
Iraq. Trusted elected officials betrayed the oath to their office. Callously and recklessly
caused the loss of life to members of our military, and innocent civilians in Iraq. Officials
in the Bush administration need to be held legally accountable for the grave harm their
deception caused. Former President George Bush and senior officials in the Bush
administration should stand trial for violating the law under US code title 18 section
2441: war crimes, because of the craven duplicity, unparalleled corruption, and horrific
crimes they committed against humanity. As early as 2001, senior officials in the Bush

administration began to plan the invasion of Iraq

Irrigation In Napa Valley
Napa Valley is a part of the hilly, steep mountains in the California Coast Range. The
soils in Napa Valley are generally very deep and are used for vineyards. Soils of volcanic,
and alluvial origin exist, each created by geological events that have occurred over sixty
million years. The valley was formed by tectonic plate movement and volcanic activity.
Due to volcanic activity, more than 100 soil types were created.
Grape farmers have an issue of choosing the type of irrigation which will decrease the
salinity of the soils but also provide enough water for their crops to thrive. How much
irrigation water required to grow quality wine grapes depends upon the site, the stage of
vine growth, row spacing, size of the vine s canopy, and amount of rainfall occurring
during the growing season. The structure and composition of the soil greatly affect the
character of the grapes and help guide the Napa Valley grape growers as to which
rootstocks and grape varieties to plant. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One type of irrigation, drip irrigation, is a method which plants reach water supply. Drip
irrigation is the most widely used method of irrigation in Napa Valley. By directly
applying water to either the root zone or to the surrounding soil, this method significantly
reduces the amount of water used. In addition, growers are able to control the exact
amount of water applied to each vine, reduce evaporation, and minimize surface runoff.
Although the water goes around root system, it does not go far and as a result, there is an
accumulation of salts. Furthermore, most of the water in California comes from
mountains which has salt in them and once that area is flushed, the farmer can also flush
the soil. If flushing does not occur, then saline and sodic conditions can possibly
Perseverance In Ww1
Not only did German soldiers exhibit struggle and perseverance, but so did the
prisoners they captured, such as the Russians. The Russian prisoners were now
reduced to wearing poor clothing, and they had to scavenge for minute morsels of
food in garbage cans, yet they did not give in (189 191). Likewise, Paul Baümer and
Albert Kropp did not give in when they were injured in French fire in Chapter Ten.
They ran for cover and eventually found a dug out for protection. Their perseverance
and hard work may have saved their lives, for each s injury placed them in the hospital
(240 241). The morning after they are placed in a Catholic Hospital, the patients in the
room become disgruntled when they are awoken by prayer in the hallway. In response,
