Upgrades

Simplified Upgrade [10 : 10-Nov-2021]

Prior to Release 9.2, only one type of a Upgrade was possible; known as a Traditional Upgrade. For
Release 9.2, a new type of Upgrade process is added called Simplified Upgrade. Whereas a Traditional
Upgrade replaces all JD Edwards EnterpriseOne objects, the Simplified Upgrade process identifies and
replaces only specific standard JD Edwards EnterpriseOne objects that have changed between from
Applications Release 9.0 Update 2 or Release 9.1 to Applications Release 9.2.

The concept is to simplify the upgrade in terms of lessening the requirement to retrofit custom changes.
The Simplified Upgrade process applies code and objects in a net-change format that preservers
unaffected modified objects. This is accomplished using a manifest that identifies the objects that were
changed by JD Edwards software development in the from release and the to release.

Additionally, an enhanced impact analysis toolset allows customers to identify all objects (including
Users Defined Objects (UDOs)) that are impacted by the upgrade.

Oracle Product Features Report Run On: 1/16/2024 8:08 AM

Release Comparison Report Page 6 of 67
Regarding logic, when the Simplified Upgrade option is chosen the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Platform
Pack Installer does not deliver Central Objects. The existing Central Objects are preserved and the
OCM is configured to point to those path codes, which can be either from JD Edwards Release 9.0
Update 2 or 9.1.

Regarding the database, for a Simplified Upgrade the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Platform Pack
Installer performs the same as a Traditional Upgrade in terms of delivering the entire database for the
for Pristine environment. However, unlike the Traditional Upgrade, the Simplified Upgrade does not
deliver Business Data and Control Tables for other environments.

Simplified Upgrade to 64-bit on One-Click Provisioned Target [100 : 26-Apr-2021]

The Simplified Upgrade process applies code and objects in a net-change format that preserves
customized JD Edwards EnterpriseOne objects that are not modified by JD Edwards between the
source and target releases. This saves time, cost, and effort in retrofitting the customizations. This
release enhances the Simplified Upgrade process to enable customers to upgrade directly to a 64-bit
enabled code current 9.2 environment.

This process enables customers to run the Simplified Upgrade process on a target environment
provisioned using JD Edwards One-Click Provisioning and directly upgrade it to 64-bit JD Edwards
EnterpriseOne. With this enhancement, customers can upgrade directly to 64-bit enabled environments
either on premises or on Oracle Cloud, or while migrating from on premises to Oracle Cloud.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.5.3
Minimum Apps Release: 9.2
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: •Enables direct simplified upgrade path for customers on 32-bit JD Edwards to move to code
current 64-bit JD Edwards during the upgrade process
•Eliminates the need for a two-step process of upgrading to 32-bit first and then doing a conversion to
64-bit
•Combines upgrade to code current and 64-bit conversion together
•Enables upgrade to 64-bit while migrating to cloud
•Reduces cost, time, and effort to upgrade to 64-bit JD Edwards EnterpriseOne

Future proof and improve your JD Edwards systems with 64-bit enablement [70 : 08-Nov-2021]
Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne has supported vendor 64-bit hardware, operating systems,
databases, Java, and middleware for many years. Additionally, multiple JD Edwards components, such
as HTML Server, AIS Server, Orchestrator, and other Java-based components, are 64-bit enabled. Now,
to round out our architecture, JD Edwards is enabling 64-bit processing for the Enterprise Server and
development client. This empowers you to move completely from 32-bit to 64-bit processing.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.3
Minimum Apps Release: 9.2
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: Moving to 64-bit enables you to adopt future technology and future-proof your environments.
Many vendors of third-party components, such as database drivers and Java, which JD Edwards
EnterpriseOne requires, are delivering only 64-bit components.

It enables JD Edwards to deliver future product innovation and support newer versions of the required
technology stack.

There is no impact to your business processes or business data. Transitioning to 64-bit processing is a
technical uplift that is managed with the JD Edwards Tools Foundation.

Implementing 64-bit Processing on the Deployment Server [80 : 23-Sep-2021]

Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne has supported 64-bit solutions—hardware, operating systems,
databases, Java, and middleware—for many years. Additionally, multiple JD Edwards components,
such as HTML Server, AIS Server, Orchestrator, and other Java-based components, are 64-bit enabled.
Now, to round out our architecture, JD Edwards is enabling 64-bit processing for the Deployment Server
to connect the Enterprise Server and the development client. This capability enables you to move
completely from 32-bit to 64-bit processing. The 64-bit planner ESUs simplifies the distribution process
of an update package to a Work station and deploying the Special Migration Tool(SMT) eases the
migration of the Deployment server to 64-bit.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.4
Minimum Apps Release: 9.2
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: Increase speed and compatibility with 64-bit processing with your JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
system.

Performance

Orchestrations: High Volume Data [260 : 10-Apr-2019]

When designing orchestrations, a common pattern is to request a set of data (records) from JD Edwards
EnterpriseOne, either as an Orchestrator data request or as a form service request that returns a set of
records from grid rows. In practice, the returned set of data might be quite large, even thousands of
rows. This feature allows the orchestration designer to set a page size, which allows the AIS server to
receive the data from the HTML server in chunks. For very large data sets, fetching the data page-by-
page will result in a faster and more reliable operation.

External REST Authentication via Public Key Certificates [300 : 09-Jun-2020]

Extending the capabilities of the EnterpriseOne Orchestrator to securely integrate with third-party
systems and cloud services, authentication to an external REST service has now been made possible
through X.509 public key certificates. This enhancement broadens the range of third-party REST
services that orchestrations can securely invoke.

Grouped Arrays from CSV Files [310 : 09-Jun-2020]
Orchestrations can be configured to accept input from the CSV files stored on an FTP server. This
enhancement enables the orchestration designer to designate columns of data within those CSV files as
indicators of grouped data, thereby giving the ordinarily flat CSV data a certain amount of structure. For
example, a single CSV file might contain data representing multiple sales orders, with each sales order
having multiple items. The CSV rows for a single sales order can be grouped together as long as the
value in each of the designated header fields remains the same. A row with a different value in one of
the designated header fields indicates a new group. With this new feature, orchestration designers can
use the ordinarily flat structure of a CSV file to create more hierarchical inputs for orchestrations.

HTTP Compression for AIS Output [320 : 20-Oct-2020]

This feature improves the performance of implementations that request and receive very large data sets
from the AIS server. For example, it is possible to compress the output of an orchestration that uses a
data request to return a very large data set, possibly thousands of rows and thousands of bytes of data.
Using the built-in capabilities of the HTTP server to compress this data, the size of the payload that is
actually transmitted over the network can be greatly reduced, thus resulting in better performance.

Assertion Framework for Orchestrations [340 : 04-Nov-2020]

Orchestrations are a powerful way to automate EnterpriseOne transactions and integrate EnterpriseOne
systems with third-party systems and IoT devices. There are two critical aspects to the integrity of an
orchestration: first, that it runs without error, and second, that it produces the data that the designer
expects. The Assertion Framework enables the orchestration designer to specify, in other words, to
assert the values that are expected to be produced by an orchestration. For example, the designer might
assert that a value is expected to be within a certain range, or must match a specific numerical value. If
the orchestration produces a value outside that range or a value other than the specified value, an
orchestration exception occurs, and the exception can be properly investigated. For customers who are
considering the use of orchestrations as test cases, the Assertion Framework provides a very useful way
to define objective success criteria.

Queue Control for AIS Requests [350 : 09-Jun-2020]

The Application Interface Services (AIS) server is a powerful tool for automating inbound and outbound
transactions of EnterpriseOne, and when implemented at a large scale, that automation is even more
valuable. For some implementations, orchestration designers require control over the order in which
those transactions are executed, for example, they might want to ensure a first-in, first-out (FIFO)
processing. This enhancement enables the orchestration designer to specify whether an orchestration is
processed in a single-threaded queue, a fire-and-forget multithreaded queue, or a default queue. In this
way the orchestration designer has more control over the runtime processing of orchestrations.

Expand or Collapse Nested Orchestrations [360 : 09-Jun-2020]
The three scenarios in which an orchestration step can contain another orchestration are:
a) The child orchestration is included directly in a parent orchestration.
b) The parent orchestration includes a connector to an orchestration.
c) The parent orchestration contains a notification that executes an orchestration.

In all of these scenarios, the orchestration steps will now be expandable and collapsible, enabling the
orchestration designer to review and edit the child orchestration. When an orchestration is included as a
connector or a notification, the notification or connector can first be expanded, and then the
orchestration within can be further expanded if required.
The system also handles multiple levels of orchestration nesting, including nesting associated with
recursive scenarios. Furthermore, the system offers an expand-all functionality, as well as a collapse-all
functionality.

Printing an Orchestration [370 : 09-Jun-2020]

Because orchestrations can be a major component of critical business processes, customers require a
way to capture an immutable record of orchestrations as process documentation, for example, for
auditing and archival purposes. The Print an Orchestration feature enables you to capture a record of
your orchestrations as a printed document or as a PDF file.
The document will include a summary page with the graphical representation of the orchestration flow
and supplemental pages with details regarding orchestration inputs, variables, outputs, scheduling, and
so on. The supplemental pages also provide details on each orchestration element, including
information about transformations and error handling.
The orchestration document can be used for comprehensive auditing, communicating the orchestration
function through an offline medium, and recreating the orchestration based on a human-readable
specification.

Return Orchestration Inputs in the Output [380 : 09-Jun-2020]

In some use cases, it is useful to echo the orchestration inputs in the output (the REST response). For
example, an orchestration that retrieves a list of open sales orders for a customer might take the
Customer Number as an input, and the orchestration designer might want to include that Customer
Number in the output. With this feature, the orchestration inputs will be shown on the Outputs page, and
the orchestration designer can easily select to include them in the output.

Orchestrator Optimized Retrieval of Large Data Sets [400 : 04-Nov-2020]

Of all the capabilities of Orchestrator, retrieving data from the EnterpriseOne tables is among the most
common and essential features. Some usage patterns entail retrieving data in a very small, transactional
bursts, for example, to get an inventory count of a single item. Other usage patterns entail retrieving very
large data sets, for example, to load or synchronize a complete customer list from EnterpriseOne to a
third-party system. This enhancement provides performance optimizations for Orchestrator to be able to
retrieve very large data sets, possibly thousands of rows from EnterpriseOne tables and pass the results
in the orchestration output.

Enhanced Configuration Between Enterprise and AIS Servers [410 : 04-Nov-2020]

This feature provides the system administrator with more control over configuring the associations
between EnterpriseOne enterprise servers and AIS servers. Customers who deploy a single enterprise
server for all environments can now associate that enterprise server with AIS servers in multiple
environments. This configurability facilitates the segregation of AIS servers across environments, such
as development, test, and production, while making it possible for a single enterprise server to serve all
the environments.

Allow Variables in REST File Uploads [420 : 04-Nov-2020]

The Orchestrator as part of its ability to invoke third-party services through its REST connector, can now
upload various content types, for example, it can upload files to a REST-enabled content management
system. This enhancement enables the orchestration designer to use variables in the definition of the
connector. For example, the name of a file might be represented by a variable, enabling the
orchestration to dynamically determine the file that is to be uploaded.

Configurable AIS Session Initialization [430 : 04-Nov-2020]

This feature gives you more choice and control over how system resources are used to initialize user
sessions. The Application Interface Services (AIS) server is a powerful framework for exposing
EnterpriseOne applications and data as services. In addition to being available to external clients, the
AIS server has also been utilized as part of the internal EnterpriseOne architecture to enable certain
functionality, such as UX One components, EnterpriseOne Search, and externally hosted web
applications. If you want to use these features, you need to establish sessions with both the
EnterpriseOne HTML server and the AIS server, and each of these sessions consumes system
resources. If you do not use these features, you do not need to establish an AIS session. This
enhancement enables the system administrator to configure the HTML server to not initialize an AIS
session until it is required for one of these functions, thus conserving system resources.

Pass OAuth 2.0 Client ID and Secret in the Request Body of an Orchestration [440 : 16-Jan-2021]
Orchestrations can invoke REST APIs securely from external systems by using industry-standard
authentication protocols such as OAuth 2.0. This protocol requires that a client ID and a client secret be
exchanged between the two systems.
This enhancement provides the orchestration designer the choice of sending the client ID and client
secret in the request header or in the request body, as is required by some third-party systems. With this
added flexibility, Orchestrator can interact securely with a broader range of third-party systems.

Return REST Header Parameters as Orchestration Variables [450 : 16-Jan-2021]

This feature improves the integration of Orchestrator with the REST services that return information in
the response header.
Orchestrator can integrate with external REST services. Orchestration designers can parse values from
the body of the response from those REST services, and pass those values to subsequent orchestration
steps.

This feature extends that capability to parameters that are passed through the response header instead
of the body. For example, after successful authentication, a REST service may return an authentication
token in the response header. This enhancement enables users to pass that token as a variable to
subsequent orchestration steps to maintain an authenticated session.

Secure Session Balancing across AIS Servers [470 : 16-Jan-2021]

This enhancement improves the scalability and fault tolerance of the EnterpriseOne architecture by
facilitating a load of session requests to be shared among multiple AIS servers.
The AIS server is the entry point of orchestrations and AIS REST APIs. Relative to the workload that is
processed on other EnterpriseOne servers (HTML, enterprise, and database), the load on the AIS
server is typically very light. Nevertheless, in some use cases a very high volume of requests are sent to
the AIS server very rapidly. In this scenario, the common architecture is to place a set of AIS servers
behind a load balancer to distribute the incoming traffic. This architecture also prevents a single AIS
server to be a single point of failure. However, in cases where the AIS sessions are authenticated
through a previously authenticated token, an AIS server would not respect a token that was granted by a
different AIS server in the group. This enhancement provides a secure mechanism for a set of AIS
servers to acknowledge and respect each other's authenticated tokens, thus providing a secure scale-
out and a fault-tolerant architecture for high-volume requests.

Pass a Version to a Report Service Request [480 : 16-Jan-2021]

A report service request allows an orchestration to submit a report to the EnterpriseOne universal batch
engine (UBE). The orchestration designer can create the report service request and specify certain
attributes of the report such as data selection, processing options, and report output options. When the
orchestration runs, the report is submitted just as a user would have done manually.

This feature now enables the orchestration designer to pass a report version into the report step
dynamically as a variable. For example, for a report that has many versions, an orchestration designer
can build a single report request and pass a version into that step from an orchestration input, or even
from a value that is derived in a previous orchestration step. In this way, a single report step can serve
to run any version of the report, giving orchestrations greater flexibility and intelligence.

Select Multiple Rows in a Form Request [490 : 16-Jan-2021]

Form service requests are a fundamental element of orchestrations, enabling the orchestration designer
to automate interactions with EnterpriseOne application forms, even forms with grids.

Previously the only options for working with grid rows were to either select the first row or to select all
the rows; in contrast this feature enables the orchestration designer to pass in a specific list of grid rows
for the orchestration to operate upon. Particularly in cases where the rows to be acted upon are not
consecutive or cannot be filtered by a query, this feature gives the orchestration designer more control
over how orchestrations can interact with grid rows.

Array Variables for External REST Calls [500 : 16-Jan-2021]

A powerful capability of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator is making outbound calls to
external REST-based services and to return data from those services. Sometimes, the data is returned
as simple variables, such as strings or numbers; other times the external service may return an array of
data, for example, a list of customer names, account numbers, and addresses. This enhancement
provides the capability to map those returned arrays to orchestration variables, which can then be acted
upon and iterated over by subsequent orchestration steps.

JD Edwards Internet of Things (IoT) Orchestrator [340 : 21-Jul-2015]

The JD Edwards Internet of Things (IoT) Orchestrator amplifies the value of the JD Edwards
EnterpriseOne system by enabling customers to collect, filter, analyze, and act on real-time data as it is
being transmitted by IoT devices. The IoT Orchestrator eliminates the costly, tedious, untimely, and
error-prone process of collecting and inputting data manually by accepting input from automated
devices.

Oracle Product Features Report Run On: 1/16/2024 8:08 AM

Release Comparison Report Page 20 of 67
The building blocks of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne IoT Orchestrator are:

• Registration (Cross Reference): Identifies the devices that are authorized to send data to the IoT
Orchestrator and associates those devices to with data stored in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system,
such as equipment number, asset ID, location, business unit, etc.
• Rules Engine: Establishes criteria and thresholds against which the IoT Orchestrator evaluates
incoming device data to invoke the appropriate action based on conditions.
• Action (Service Request): Defines the specific JD Edwards EnterpriseOne application form or custom
Java program to be invoked as the result of a predefined condition. The IoT Orchestrator passes
incoming device data into the form(s) and launches the applications. Any JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
form, including customers' customized forms, can be invoked by the orchestration.
Using these building blocks, business analysts can design orchestrations that tie IoT devices directly to
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications, thus eliminating costly, mundane, and error-prone manual
input and operate enabling the enterprise operations based on accurate, real-time data.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.1.5.5
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: Customers benefit by eliminating costly manual processes, by reacting to—or avoiding—
business disruptions in real-time, and by analyzing historical data for continuous process improvement.
Examples: Sensors that report a condition such as location, temperature, vibration, flow, open/closed,
on/off are increasingly prevalent in equipment, vehicles, buildings, devices, etc. and so forth. Today
these sensors are largely used in isolation and disconnected from the operation side of the business.
This lack of integration with the ERP system leads to manual processes to try to leverage the sensor
data which leads to inefficiencies, poor response time, and reduction in benefits the sensors promised.
The information provided by these sensors would be extremely valuable if they were integrated with the
ERP system. Imagine that when a condition is met, such as a piece of equipment overheating, a
condition based maintenance alert could be automatically generated and issue a work order to
immediately address the problem. All in real time.

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator Studio [390 : 15-Feb-2016]

The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator Studio enables a business analyst to devise processes
called orchestrations that enable the transformation of data from third-party devices into actionable
business processes in a JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Internet of Things (IoT) environment. The
Orchestrator Studio provides an intuitive graphical user interface for creating the rules, cross-references,
and service requests that make up an orchestration.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.0.2
Status: Available Type: Integration Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: The Orchestrator Studio is built for the business analyst—not the programmer—to design and
deploy orchestrations.

The intuitive GUI of the Orchestration Studio greatly lowers the complexity bar and enables business
analysts to build and deploy their own orchestrations with less reliance on technical resources.
Examples: For example, you can create orchestrations that enable EnterpriseOne to:
-Alert users to a required activity.
-Alert users to perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
-Provide audit data for safety compliance and security.

Management of Internet of Things Orchestrator Components as User Defined Objects [420 : 12-
Jan-2017]
Starting with EnterpriseOne Tools 9.2.1 and Orchestrator Studio 3.0.0, orchestration components
created in the Orchestrator Studio are stored as user defined objects in EnterpriseOne. Each
orchestration component type—orchestration, service request, rule, cross reference, white list—is
managed as a separate UDO type in EnterpriseOne. Managing the orchestration components as user
defined objects enables customers to use the same utilities, security, and lifecycle management model
that is used with other user defined objects.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.1
Status: Available Type: Integration Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: This feature enables business analysts to manage IoT orchestrations as user defined objects.
This ability enables business analysts to effectively manage large numbers of components in an IoT

Data Service Support for Orchestrations and Service Versioning [430 : 02-May-2017]
A new data service request in Orchestrator Studio 5.0.1 enables users to create orchestrations that
retrieve data from EnterpriseOne tables and business views. For example, a user could write an
orchestration that simply returns a list of open purchase orders. In addition to the existing ability to
invoke JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications, this new feature gives users access to the wealth of
data stored in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne tables (subject to JD Edwards security).

All orchestrations created in Orchestrator Studio 5.0.1 are version 2 orchestrations, which enable
orchestrations to use version 2 AIS services that support additional capabilities such as data request,
message, and connector service requests. In Orchestrator Studio 5.0.1, you can still work with existing,
pre version 2 orchestrations. Or you can easily save existing orchestrations as version 2 orchestrations
in the Orchestrator Studio and modify them to use new capabilities. Versioning support enables the

Orchestrator File Transfer [490 : 10-Apr-2018]

Business analysts use the Orchestrator Studio to create orchestrations that enable automation of their
previously manual business processes, as well as pass and retrieve data between JD Edwards
EnterpriseOne and external systems. Many automated business processes require the movement of
physical files from one system to another. To accommodate this requirement, business analysts can use
Orchestrator file transfer features to either retrieve a file or send a file to a known location using FTP,
SFTP, or REST protocols. These features enable you to create a FTP connector or REST connector in
the Orchestrator Studio, that when added to an orchestration, enables the transfer of files to an external
server. For example, a business analyst could create an orchestration that runs a JD Edwards
EnterpriseOne report and then sends the report output (PDF file) to a document management system
via FTP, SFTP, or REST.

The Orchestrator file transfer features use soft-coding records to enable the secure transfer of files
between EnterpriseOne and external systems. A system administrator can set up a soft-coding record
for a single connection to an external system; and a business analyst can create one or more
connectors that use this same connection to pass various files to that external system.

Orchestrator Studio 6.1.0: Additional User Interface and Customer-Driven Enhancements [500 :
12-Apr-2018]
As part of JD Edwards continuous delivery of features, the following updates are available for
Orchestrator Studio to further help you simplify the digital transformation of your traditional business
processes into simplified, automated processes:

Arrays for orchestration inputs – You can include an array as an orchestration input, defining the set of
data to pass inside the array. You can use an array in two ways: with the orchestration "Iterate Over"
feature to repeatedly call a service request for each row in the array; add or update a grid by referencing
the array name inside the service request at the grid level.

Orchestration inputs section – To make it easier to work with orchestration inputs, the inputs section is
redesigned with three separate expandable grids to categorize manually entered inputs, inputs defined
from values returned from other orchestration components, and default system inputs.

Generate orchestration inputs from an orchestration component – After adding a component as an

orchestration step, use the "Add Inputs to Orchestration" button to automatically add inputs defined in
the component as inputs to the orchestration. This makes it easier to define your orchestration inputs
and map them to the component inputs.

"Select All Rows" in a form request – Use the "Select All Rows" option in the Form Request design
page if you want a form request to perform an action on all rows in a grid. Use this action if the form has
a feature or button for performing an action on all selected grid grows. For example, if you want to

update the PO status for all rows in a grid, add this action to the Order of Execution area and then
configure the next action to update the PO status.

"Select First Row" is now "Select Row" – On the Form Request design page, you can add this action to
the Order of Execution to select the first row. Or before adding this to the Order of Execution, you can
enter a variable name in the Mapped Value column of this row, so you can map an orchestration input to
this variable to pass in the row to select. Or you can enter a value in the Default Value column to specify
a specific row to select.

Defining Mapped Values and Default Values in a form request – The Orchestrator Studio now gives you
the option to define mapped values and default values in the Order of Execution area. Before, you could
only do this in the Available Actions area before adding an action to the Order of Execution.

Run Synchronously option for form requests – Enabled by default, this option ensures that the form
request completes all actions before the Orchestrator executes the next step in the orchestration. It also
ensures that the events in the EnterpriseOne application are run synchronously. This option is
recommended if there are steps that follow the form request in the orchestration or if you configure the
form request to return a response.

Application version determined by orchestration input – In a form request, you can leave the version of
the form blank, which gives you the option to pass in the version from an orchestration input.

Management and Monitoring of Orchestrations and Notifications [510 : 09-Nov-2018]

Orchestrations and notifications are a powerful way to automate JD Edwards EnterpriseOne business
processes and keep users notified about critical conditions. But sometimes no news is not good news.
There are various reasons why an orchestration or notification might become dormant or inoperable,
and the owner needs assurance that those critical processes are functioning as intended. The
Orchestrator Dashboard provides real-time visibility into the health and operation of the orchestrations
and notifications owned by a user. Administrators have broader visibility to ensure that these critical
components keep doing their job.

Launch an Orchestration from a Table Event [520 : 09-Nov-2018]

The heart of autonomous ERP is the ability of the system to detect and analyze events and conditions
and then take action on them without human intervention. In JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, many of those
important events and conditions are represented by changes to the data in tables, for example, the
creation of a sales order, the deletion of an address book record, or a change in a status field. All of
these events, which occur in real time and are represented by table events, could be the opportunity to
automate processes by invoking orchestrations or notifications. With this feature, your JD Edwards
system rises to a new level of autonomy by enacting rules-based automation based on real-time
changes to your data.

Expanded Orchestrator Data Formats - CSV [540 : 08-Nov-2018]

The common format for sending data into Orchestrator is the industry standard JavaScript Object
Notation (JSON). However, many customers are more familiar with spreadsheet formats. This
enhancement enables orchestrations to read data from a file with data in comma-separated values
(CSV) format, which is easily exported from spreadsheets. Orchestrator can then read that data in
addition to, or as an alternative to, the typical JSON input.

Error Handling of Orchestration Steps [550 : 08-Nov-2018]

Orchestrations can be simple, or they can be a combination of many interrelated steps. The
orchestration designer needs control over how an error in one step might affect the entire orchestration.
The new error handling feature allows the orchestration designer to specify whether an error at a single
step should cause the entire orchestration to fail, and to specify an error message and an orchestration
that launches in the case of failure.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.3
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry: (All Industries)

Expanded Orchestrator Data Formats - XML [560 : 10-Apr-2019]

The inputs to orchestrations are typically included in the body of the REST call as key/value pairs in
JSON notation. When this is the case, the device or system that is invoking the orchestration specifies
that the data is "application/JSON" in the message header.
This enhancement allows the sending system to use XML notation for the inputs instead of JSON by
specifying "application/XML" in the message header.

Beginning with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 9.2.3.3 and Orchestrator Studio 7.2, a new Version 3
format for orchestrations is available. The structure of orchestration inputs and orchestration steps has
not changed. Orchestration output for Version 3 is compliant with the OpenAPI 2.0 standard; therefore,
Version 3 orchestrations have outputs that are discoverable according to the standard.
Orchestrator Studio has been enhanced to allow the user to define, preview, and manipulate the output.
The user has more control over arrays in the output and the ability to assign types (string, numeric, date,
and Boolean) to outputs.
Orchestrator continues to be backward-compatible with Version 1 and Version 2 orchestrations.

Orchestrator to Search and Export by Categories [630 : 09-Jan-2020]

Tools Release 9.2.4.2 provides the following enhancements for the Orchestrator Studio 9.2.4:

•You can create and assign categories to orchestrations, notifications, and their subcomponents.
Categories enable you to group and manage components that have a common purpose or attribute. For
example, you might assign the category "Demo" to the orchestrations and subcomponents that you use
for demonstrations. Orchestration designers can create new categories, and optionally share them with
others, from within the Orchestrator Studio. Shared categories are saved to an EnterpriseOne table;
they can be added, modified, and deleted using the Category Manager application (P980058).

•You can export multiple orchestrations and notifications belonging to a specific Orchestrator category
as a single file. For example, if you have a set of three orchestrations and two notifications with the
category "Demo," you can export all the five components as a single zip file. By default, the Orchestrator
also exports all the subcomponents (service requests, rules, and so on) of the orchestrations and
notifications, even if those subcomponents are not assigned the same category. In this way, you can
easily export and import the entire working sets of orchestrations and notifications.

Replace OC4J with Oracle WebLogic Server [1000 : 10-Nov-2021]

This feature replaces Oracle containers for Java (OC4j) with Oracle WebLogic Server for the
EnterpriseOne development client, Server Manager Console, and standalone client.
Change: Added in Release Tools. 9.2
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: Using Oracle WebLogic Server as the local web application server for these JD Edwards
EnterpriseOne components keeps them in alignment with the Oracle Fusion Middleware product
strategy for the web application server. These EnterpriseOne components are certified with current
versions of Oracle WebLogic Server and Java to provide updated functionality and security fixes.
Examples: Following the published documentation, the customer installs the certified version of Oracle
WebLogic Server to a development workstation as a prerequisite. The customer then deploys the JD
Edwards EnterpriseOne development client package to that workstation. The development client then
uses the locally installed WebLogic Server instance to preview EnterpriseOne objects in development
prior to deploying them into a production instance of the EnterpriseOne HTML server running WebLogic
Server.
User Experience: In prior releases of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, an instance of OC4j including the
Java Development Kit (JDK), was bundled into the client packages and automatically installed as part of
the client package deployment process. Beginning with Tools Release 9.2, the customer must first
download and install the Java Development Kit and WebLogic Server as a prerequisite before
proceeding to deploy the development client package or the standalone client.

For the Server Manager console, the process of deploying to WebLogic Server is the same as in prior
releases; however, the option to deploy to OC4j is no longer available.

In general, WebLogic Server is functionally equivalent to using OC4j for the development client and
standalone client. The WebLogic Server product has relatively minor additional hardware requirements
as identified by Oracle Certifications for the affected JD Edwards EnterpriseOne products.

Enhancements to Simplify Staying Current [1030 : 10-Nov-2021]

Continuing Oracle's investment to simplify processes for customers to stay current with innovations
delivered in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, JD Edwards provides the following:

Object Tracking and Enhanced Impact Analysis: This new capability provides tracking and visibility of
business functions (BSFN) execution within JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. Business functions are the core
logic processing for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne interactive/batch applications. Therefore, gaining
greater insight into their usage simplifies upgrade/patching processes, and assists with troubleshooting
performance, analyze issues, and manage compliance. Similar to tracking usage of interactive/batch
applications, business functions statistics are consumable by out-of-the-box UX One analytics and helps
customers identify business functions used in their business processes.

Batch Deploy of UDO Packages: This streamlines the process and reduces the effort of applying and
deploying key enhancements such as UX One and other User Defined Objects (UDOs). Customers can
now deploy multiple (UDO) packages at the same time and to multiple environments. They can also
view the generated deployment summary report.

Customization Workbench Enhanced to Support ESUs: The streamlined process of retrofitting

customizations, which was earlier available for Simplified Upgrade, is now extended to support all
customized JD Edward EnterpriseOne objects impacted by Electronic Software Updates (ESU).

Resilient Scheduler [1040 : 09-Nov-2021]

As notifications and orchestrations are incorporated into critical business processes, the scheduling and
execution of those notifications and orchestrations becomes equally critical. This feature makes the
scheduler resilient enough to tolerate failures, enables restarting with minimum human intervention, and
enables clustering for scalability and to avoid a single point of failure.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.2.4
Minimum Apps Release: 9.0
Status: Available Type: Feature Industry:
Benefits: This feature allows the job specifications for scheduled notifications and orchestrations to be
stored centrally in the database. In architectures where a single instance of the scheduler is used, this
means that the scheduler can restart from a failure and continue processing from the queue of
scheduled jobs without an administrator having to resubmit all jobs manually. In architectures where
multiple instances of the scheduler are deployed, the schedulers can behave as a cluster, each taking
the next scheduled job from the queue. If any single instance of a scheduler fails, the other schedulers
can proceed independently for continuous operations.

Notifications [1160 : 16-Oct-2017]

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne notifications enable you to improve your business efficiency through the use
of proactive notifications that are actionable. Proactive notifications enable the system to notify users of
business events as they happen without the need for the user to be online.
As a notification designer, you decide and implement the notifications that provide pertinent business
information to your users. Users can then choose to subscribe to available notifications and receive
updates via email, text message, a browser pop-up window, within EnterpriseOne, and through the
EnterpriseOne Work Center. By creating notifications that are valuable to your subscribers, you enable
them to know when key transactions or events occur without even having to log in to EnterpriseOne.
This close monitoring helps them respond quickly and perform their jobs more efficiently.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.2
Status: Available Type: Feature Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications and the business data held in the tables are
immensely valuable as they are. However, for a user to get any insight or awareness from that data, the
user must always initiate some type of pull action, for example, open an application and perform a QBE

or data query, refresh a page with a One View report or Watchlist, or even open and scan a mobile
application.
Notifications provide a push paradigm that gives the user awareness to critical situations and events in
real time, as well as the ability to go directly to recommended actions. Thus, the time from occurrence to
resolution is greatly reduced.

Assigned Subscriptions [1170 : 10-Apr-2018]

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Assigned Subscriptions remove the requirement for JD Edwards
EnterpriseOne users to subscribe individually to receive a notification. Now a manager or business
analyst can assign subscriptions by role to groups with a common interest or common security settings.
The assigner can allow subscribers to opt out of assigned subscriptions, or the assigner can disallow
subscribers to opt out, thus ensuring that they receive critical notifications.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.2.4
Minimum Apps Release: 9.1
Status: Available Type: Feature Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: By allowing a manager or administrator-type user to assign subscriptions by role, we remove
some of the uncertainty about what information users are receiving. Business efficiency improves since
one person can assign subscriptions to groups of users. We also remove the need for every user to
understand what notifications may be required or of value to their job.
User Experience: A new Assigned Subscriptions Manager application has been added to enable
managers and administrators to assign subscriptions to subscribers. The application is very similar to
the existing Subscription Manager, but with the additional ability to choose the roles of the subscribers
and to control the actions that the subscribers are allowed to take, such as whether the subscribers are
allowed to opt out of the notification, to choose notification delivery methods, and to override default
inputs. The Assigned Subscription Manager application can be secured so that only authorized users
are allowed to assign subscriptions.

Multiple Actions in Messages [1180 : 10-Jan-2019]

Notification messages, Orchestrator messages, and Work Center messages previously allowed only one
action, a link to a JD Edwards application, per message. Sometimes the user needs to make a choice
among multiple actions, so messages now allow multiple actions. The message designer can define text
for the action link and any text they want to surround the link in order to provide more information about
the action.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.3.2
Status: Available Type: Industry:

Attachments to Messages [1190 : 12-Apr-2019]

Orchestrator messages and notifications are powerful ways to alert users to critical events and give
them fast access to the applications they need to respond. Sometimes the information in the message is
not enough, and you need to provide an attachment to the message, such as a document, a picture, or a
file, to fully complete the business process.

JD Edwards user-defined object (UDO) management feature has delivered improvements to the user
experience for users managing UDOs. UDO management usability targets easier management of large
volumes of objects and improved blending of activities between administrators and business analysts.
This feature provides a better jump-start to implement UX One. The following capabilities are delivered
with this feature:

• View Dependencies enables you to identify all the dependent objects that are required to set up and
implement UX One roles. You can review and manage object dependencies for Composite Page and
Composite Application Framework UDOs. This is helpful when you want to determine if you have all the
dependent objects that exist for a particular OMW project.
• Manage View security for individual UDOs or all shared UDOs using the User Defined Object
Management (P98220U) application. This gives you the option of providing the same user who is
responsible for reviewing and approving shared UDOs in P98220U, the ability to set up/revise view
security for shared UDOs.
• The Object Management Workbench - Web application (P98220W) enables you to copy an OMW
project that contains UDOs. You can also delete multiple user defined objects through a single delete
operation.

Attachments to Messages: Report Output [1210 : 10-Apr-2019]

Orchestrator messages and notifications are powerful ways to alert users to critical events and give
them fast access to the applications they need to respond. Sometimes the information in the message is
not enough, and you need to provide an attachment to the message to fully complete the business
process. This feature allows the orchestration or notification designer to specify report output to be
attached to orchestration and notification messages.

Status: Available Type: Industry:

Services as Actions in Messages [1220 : 10-Apr-2019]

Orchestration and notification messages can include links that allow the message recipient to take
immediate action based on the message content, for example, a notification that a customer is over their
credit limit may include a link to view that customer's open sales orders in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
This feature expands that capability by allowing the designer to include links to orchestrations and
URLs, in addition to EnterpriseOne applications, in the body of the message.

Form Extensibility Improvements [1260 : 04-Nov-2020]

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to focus on extending the solutions by using the extensibility
framework to remove barriers for customers in adopting innovation packs. In the same endeavor, we
have delivered form extensibility capabilities to help customers reduce the customization involved and to
meet their business requirements at a low cost.
We continue to work with customers to identify the common types of customization that can be
performed on-the-glass and have added new capabilities and enhanced the extensibility framework.
Currently, in a Form Extension, customers cannot unhide business view columns that have been hidden
using the Form Design Aid (FDA). In such a scenario, they must create a customization to unhide the
hidden business view columns in the FDA so that the field is available to users in the application.
Customers want a simpler way of doing this. This new feature enables customers to unhide the business
view columns (in the grid) that were hidden in the FDA and use these columns on the application without
accessing the FDA. This capability reduces the customization required and eliminates overhead and
delay.
For example, a customer wants to add a hidden business view column in the grid for a field, Adj.
Schedule, in the Customer Service Inquiry application (P4210). Traditionally, the customer has to go to
the FDA and perform the customization to unhide the Adj. Schedule field. By using this new feature, the
customer can now unhide the Adj. Schedule field on the application without accessing the FDA.
In addition, we have extended the Form Personalization capability to enable customers to mark a field
as required in a Form Extension for all the versions of an application.
For example, a customer wants to add fields as required fields in the Address Book Revision application.
Oracle Product Features Report Run On: 1/16/2024 8:08 AM
Release Comparison Report Page 44 of 67
Let us assume that the customer adds the TaxID field and the Address Book Miscellaneous Code field
(an extended field) as required fields in the Form Extension. When the customer accesses the Personal
Form, the TaxID and Address Book Miscellaneous Code fields that were marked as required in the Form
Extension will be reflected in the Personal Form, as the changes are made at the base level. In addition,
the controls, TaxID and Address Book Miscellaneous Code, will not have a "Mark as Required" option in
the context menu in the Personal Form because they are already marked as required fields in the Form
Extension.

Benefits: - Removes need for customization
- Enables business analysts to improve business processes
- Provides better user experience
- Reduces time, effort, and overhead

Form Extension - Associate Description with Edit Control on Form [1270 : 08-Apr-2021]
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to help customers reduce customization efforts and meet their
business requirements at a low cost by extending the extensibility framework. We continue to work with
the customers to identify common customization that can be done on the glass and have added new
capabilities and enhanced the extensibility framework. This will greatly help our customers to reduce the
customization involved and meet their business requirements without creating barriers in staying code-
current.
For instance, a customer using the Chart of Accounts application (P0901) wants to associate a
description with the Category Code field. Traditionally, to associate a description with an edit field on a
form, customers would have to access the Form Design Aid (FDA) and make the necessary changes—a
process that involves several steps, clicks, and delay which makes the entire process very tedious. So,
customers want a simpler way of completing this task. This new feature enables customers to associate
a description with the Category Code field on the glass without having to access the FDA, thereby
reducing the dependency on the FDA and eliminating customization, overhead, and the delay involved.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.5.3
Status: Available Type: Industry:
Benefits: - Removes dependency on FDA
- Improves user experience
- Reduces customization
- Reduces the delay involved

UDO Dependencies with Orchestrator Components [1280 : 08-Apr-2021]

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to work with customers to identify the common types of problems
encountered in their day-to-day business with tasks that can be performed on the glass and reduce the
customization involved to meet their business requirements without creating barriers in staying code-
current.
Currently, if customers want to know the UDO dependency of an orchestration or an orchestration
component, they need to access the Orchestrator Studio which involves several steps. Also, if there are
any changes that need to be done, they are done in the Orchestrator Studio rather than where the
sharing occurs. This new feature helps the customers to find out the related components to be shared
for an orchestration without navigating to the Orchestrator Studio, thereby reducing the number of clicks
and the time spent, and in turn simplifying the entire process and reducing the delay involved.
For instance, let us consider a customer who wants to view the dependencies of an orchestration or any
other orchestration component and submits the UDO to the User Defined Object Management

Release Comparison Report Page 45 of 67
application (P98220U) to display the orchestration dependency. Currently, to know the UDO
dependency of an orchestration or any other orchestration component, customers would have to access
the Orchestrator Studio which involves multiple clicks and is time-consuming. It would help customers if
they could find the UDO dependency of orchestrations on the glass without accessing the Orchestrator
Studio. This feature helps the customers to find out the related components to be shared for an
orchestration without navigating to the Orchestrator Studio, thereby reducing the time taken, delay
involved, and simplifying the entire process.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.5.3
Status: Available Type: Industry:
Benefits: - Simplifies user experience
- Reduces the delay involved
- Removes the need to navigate to Orchestrator Studio to find out all the related components to be

Enhanced Browser Support for Media Objects [1290 : 07-Apr-2021]

Media objects are critical components of customers' business processes, as important as the
transactions and business data to which they are associated. To create and edit media objects, some
customers have historically relied on Microsoft's ActiveX technology, which allowed users to interact with
content using the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser.

This feature provides a similar, even richer user experience using any of the JD Edwards certified
browsers, while ensuring continuity of the ability to create, edit, and manage media objects. This feature
also enables customers to leverage certified browsers with the same capabilities that ActiveX provided,
including support for Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Google Docs.

Enhanced Browser Support for Grid Import and Export [1300 : 17-Feb-2022]
Customers have built business processes that include the ability to import and export data easily from
the JD Edwards application to Microsoft Excel using Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) and ActiveX. This
enhancement provides customers import and export capabilities for EnterpriseOne grid data functionality
across the browsers supported by JD Edwards.Customers will now be able to:
•Export grid data to Microsoft Excel

Orchestrator: Continuation for Steps that Generate Warnings [10 : 22-Jun-2021]

This enhancement enables the orchestration designer to control the processing on certain
EnterpriseOne applications for steps that generate warnings that require a double acknowledgement for
the step to proceed.
Having complete knowledge of the business process, the orchestration designer knows the cases when
despite a warning, it is permissible to proceed with the step and the cases when on generation of a
warning, the process should be stopped. The Orchestrator form request step enables the orchestration
designer to make that choice at the form level using the Stop on Warning switch.
Certain EnterpriseOne applications, and possibly some customer-developed applications, are developed
such that a double action is required to dismiss the warning, for example, clicking OK twice. In these
cases, the Stop on Warning switch is incapable of detecting the need for a double action, and the form
request step is halted, although the designer intends it to proceed.
This enhancement solves this issue by enabling the designer to specify that a step should proceed on a
warning.

Extensible Scripting Framework [100 : 22-Jun-2021]
This enhancement extends the scripting framework to include other scripting languages. In addition to
Java, Groovy, and EnterpriseOne business functions, you can now plug in other Java-compatible
scripting frameworks, including JRuby or Jython, and use those scripting languages to create custom
logic.

By allowing their choice of scripting languages, Orchestrator gives designers more freedom to use the
language that best aligns with the business requirements and their skills.

End-User Authentication Through JSON Web Token [110 : 14-Jul-2022]

This enhancement enables secure authentication of a user to the EnterpriseOne web client and
Orchestrator Studio through a JSON web token (JWT).
As the digital economy expands, so does the need for systems to interconnect with one another simply
and securely. Industry standards, such as OAuth 2.0 and JSON Web Tokens (JWT), serve the need for
secure, standards-based authentication among systems. The EnterpriseOne Application Interface
Services (AIS) server and Orchestrator support inbound and outbound authentication through JWT
tokens. This feature extends that capability to the EnterpriseOne web client for interactive users.
This feature enables the third-party systems and the Cloud services to present a URL (a link) to an end
user that launches the EnterpriseOne web client, either to the normal menu interface or directly to an
application through a parameterized URL, without the user having to provide authentication on a sign-on
screen. The user's authentication is established and encoded in a secure JWT token and the
authentication is passed as part of the URL.

User-Defined Orchestration Response Message [120 : 22-Jun-2021]

This enhancement enables the orchestration designer to craft custom messages for success, warning,
and error conditions.
For example, if you are using a mobile application to create sales orders in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne,
the orchestration designer can create a simple success message that says, 'Sales Order 123123
successfully created.' The mobile application will access this message easily from the orchestration
response and display it to the user. Similar messages can be written for warning and error conditions.

Create an Orchestration with a Single Click [80 : 22-Jun-2021]

This enhancement enables an orchestration designer to create an orchestration for a single
orchestration component simply by selecting the option Create Orchestration from a drop-down menu.

Oftentimes during the development of orchestrations, the orchestration designer creates an individual
component, such as a form request, a data request, or a rule, and then wants to soon run that
component, perhaps for testing. Because individual components cannot be run directly, it is first
necessary to create an orchestration that contains the component, and then run that orchestration. The
process is not difficult, but it is unnecessarily tedious.

This enhancement provides an option in the drop-down menu in Orchestrator Studio that will
automatically create a new orchestration that includes the component being edited. The name,
description, product code, and category fields are populated with the same values as the component.
The UDO component's input is automatically created and mapped as the orchestration input, and the
component's output are selected to be included as orchestration outputs. The new orchestration opens
in the orchestration editor, and the user has the opportunity to make any changes before clicking Save.
The orchestration is now ready to run.

Automated Package Build and Deployment [90 : 22-Jun-2021]

Automated Package Builds Orchestration Samples help customers to simplify the administration tasks of
performing package builds and reduces the administrative maintenance cost. The Automated Package
Build Orchestration Samples simplify the package build process considerably. These orchestrations are
less error prone and more efficient and provide solid examples of how customers can automatically
define package assembly and build records for both full and update packages, submit packages for
build, as well as show how package build and deployment can leverage the EnterpriseOne orchestration
scheduling and notification framework to it's advantage for package build activities. Overall, these
samples exemplify how the development process can substantially reduce the dependency of the CNC
administrator by the developer.

Grid Label Personalization [100 : 10-Apr-2018]

JD Edwards now supports the capability to personalize grid labels from the Grid Format user defined
object. This will be very helpful for customers to personalize grid labels with more intuitive names for
their user base. As an example, in the Work with Journal Entry application, you can personalize the grid
column "PN" to a more specific "Accounting Period". This will help a new user base easily understand
the context and content of the application. The customized grid labels work for both table view and list
view grid formats.

Status: Available Type: Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: - Remove barriers, such as hard-coded grid labels, to stay code-current
- Empower citizen developers to personalize grid labels

Application Exit Personalization [110 : 10-Apr-2018]

JD Edwards continues to empower citizen developers and enrich personalization features and
frameworks--Personal forms is one such example in this endeavor for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. Form
Personalization now supports personalization of application exits, allowing citizen developers to show,
hide, and rename application exits. This enables customers to further simplify form navigation and
personalize their experience to meet specific role, industry, and user requirements. As an example,
some applications have numerous form and row exits while the users require only a few of them. Users
can show, hide, and rename form exits as part of the Personal Form experience.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.2.4
Status: Available Type: Industry:
Examples: A customer service manager (CSM) may not be interested in all the 14-odd application exits
on the Sales Order Entry application. Removing the unnecessary application exits greatly simplifies the
navigation experience for the CSM and helps the customer remove customizations they might have
done in this endeavor.

Form Extensibility - Adding Business View Columns on Edit Forms [140 : 09-Nov-2018]
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to empower citizen developers by providing frameworks to
personalize and extend their EnterpriseOne implementation without creating barriers. Citizen developers
can now add available business view columns on the transaction form header, grid, or both on the glass
as a user defined object. This extension can be further consumed on the available personalization and
extensibility frameworks such as personal forms, CafeOne, orchestrations, and so on.

Launch Orchestrations from Interactive Applications [160 : 09-Apr-2019]

JD Edwards continues to empower citizen developers to help meet industrial and regional business
requirements on the glass without performing customizations. As part of the same endeavor, JD
Edwards has enhanced the form extensibility framework to support calling orchestrations from
EnterpriseOne forms.
This enhancement enables citizen developers to extend and augment the features and functionalities of
the base JD Edwards EnterpriseOne forms with orchestrations. All the powerful capabilities of
orchestrations such as automation, simplification, and integration with a third party are now available in
the context of EnterpriseOne forms.
For customers who employ orchestrations to automate and integrate their business processes, the
trigger to launch an orchestration is often not an external event but a contextual event within the JD
Edwards EnterpriseOne business process. As an example, whenever a high-priority customer's sales
order goes on credit hold, you might want to notify the credit manager in real time so that a corrective
action can be taken.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.3.3
Status: Available Type: Feature Industry:
Benefits: * Simplifies the process of launching orchestrations without customizations
* Simplifies integration with external REST interface
* Facilitates staying code-current

Form Extensibility – Adding Business View Table Columns [170 : 09-Apr-2019]

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to empower citizen developers by providing frameworks to
personalize and extend their EnterpriseOne solution without creating barriers to stay current. This
enhancement will enable citizen developers to add additional business view table columns on the
supported query and transaction forms using the Form Extension user defined object. Citizen
developers can leverage this functionality to utilize additional table columns that are not part of the form
business view without modifying the business view by using design tools. These extended form fields
can be further consumed on available personalization and extensibility frameworks such as personal
forms, CafeOne layouts, orchestrations, advanced queries, and so on.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.3.3
Status: Available Type: Industry:
Benefits: This enables EnterpriseOne citizen developers to extend EnterpriseOne forms with additional
information using additional business view table columns for their industry, roles, and users without
creating barriers to stay code-current.

Form Extensibility: Mapping Orchestration Output to Form Context [180 : 10-Jul-2019]

The form extensibility framework is being enhanced to enable citizen developers to map the
orchestration output parameters to the form context. This feature allows form controls to be updated
based on the response of the orchestration that is called from an interactive application using the form
extensibility framework.

Form Extensibility: Grid Support for Orchestration Association [190 : 20-Oct-2020]

The form extensibility framework enables users to associate orchestrations with events on an
EnterpriseOne form. This capability has been further enhanced to enable users to map the orchestration
outputs to the grid columns. Additionally, if the data mapped to an orchestration belongs to a grid
column, when the orchestration or notification is executed, the data will be retrieved for all the selected
grid rows.
Other enhancements include:
* Ability to search for an orchestration or notification while selecting an orchestration or notification in the
Associate Orchestrations wizard
* Disabling a form if there is an error when an orchestration or notification is executed

Form Extensibility - Hiding or Unhiding Form Controls, Renaming Labels [200 : 09-Apr-2020]
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to empower citizen developers by providing frameworks to
personalize and extend their EnterpriseOne implementation without the need for custom modifications
and developer skill sets. This enhancement to the form extensibility feature enables authorized users to
take the following actions on form extensions:
•Hide and unhide form controls
•Rename the labels on form controls, static labels, and even the form name itself
While this capability already exists in form personalizations, adding this capability to form extensions
means that the modifications to the forms will apply to all the versions of the application. This greatly
simplifies the process for creating and maintaining changes to forms that should apply to all the versions
of the application.
For example, a company uses Inventory Management but does not use the lot grade and lot potency
fields. To simplify the forms for users, the company may want to remove these fields for all users. Using
a form extension, the company can remove (hide) the lot grade and lot potency fields, and the change
would appear in all the versions of the application. This is accomplished as a single user defined object
(form extension) without the need for development tools, developer skills, or a custom modification.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.4.3
Status: Available Type: Feature Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: •Enables citizen developers to provide a better user experience to all users simply, quickly,
and inexpensively
•Reduces the time, effort, and cost to modify forms across multiple versions
•Eliminates human errors in repeating modifications to forms across multiple versions
•Simplifies the maintenance of the modifications throughout the continuous adoption lifecycle

Creating Form and Row Exits in Form Extensions [220 : 20-Oct-2020]

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to enhance the extensibility framework to remove the need to
customize JD Edwards. New capabilities in Form Extensibility include the ability to create form and row
exits. This capability will enable citizen developers to create new exits to other forms and leverage the
form interconnection capability to pass data in the called form.
Additionally, Personal Form and Form Extensibility support translation of labels.

EnterpriseOne Search Improvements [230 : 04-Nov-2020]

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Search helps users find and act on JD Edwards transactions and data
quickly as part of their daily activities. To further increase user productivity, EnterpriseOne Search has
been enhanced with the following capabilities:
- Exact match search
The system is enabled to retrieve search results that are an exact match to the keyword that a user
enters. For example, if a user wants to search for all sales orders for red bikes and enters "red bike" as
the keyword, the system will display only the orders that contain "red bike" in the description. This
capability helps in narrowing down the search results, thereby improving user productivity.
- Ability to export the search results
Users can export the search results to a .csv file so that they can analyze the data or import the data to
a different application outside of EnterpriseOne.
- Ability to specify a query or a personal form in Related Actions
- Related Information: Search capabilities for available columns in the Mapping section

personalize and extend their EnterpriseOne implementation. Citizen developers can add available
business view columns on the form header, grid, or both dynamically as user defined objects (UDOs).
Users can further personalize the form extensions by using them on available UDO frameworks such as
advanced query, watchlist, and personal forms. For example, you would like to add sales category
codes to the Customer Service Inquiry application and later use them as part of advanced query and
watchlist to create alerts based on sales category codes. This personalization will help customers retire
customizations they might have done while adding such information using traditional tools such as the
Form Design Aid to meet their industry and role requirements.
