Upgrades
The concept is to simplify the upgrade in terms of lessening the requirement to retrofit custom changes.
The Simplified Upgrade process applies code and objects in a net-change format that preservers
unaffected modified objects. This is accomplished using a manifest that identifies the objects that were
changed by JD Edwards software development in the from release and the to release.
Additionally, an enhanced impact analysis toolset allows customers to identify all objects (including
Users Defined Objects (UDOs)) that are impacted by the upgrade.
Regarding the database, for a Simplified Upgrade the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Platform Pack
Installer performs the same as a Traditional Upgrade in terms of delivering the entire database for the
for Pristine environment. However, unlike the Traditional Upgrade, the Simplified Upgrade does not
deliver Business Data and Control Tables for other environments.

The enterprise access management landscape has been evolving at a fast pace over the last few years
to meet requirements and it is critical for enterprise security. It needs to be modernized to support the
new requirements of the extended enterprise. Based on a homogeneous platform architecture, the major
release of Oracle Access Management 12c allows you to meet your specific requirements at your own
pace, without disrupting your existing environment while supporting your enterprise's growth.
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 9.2.x maintains support for Oracle Access Manager and Oracle
Internet Directory 12.2.1.3 as a certified and supported platform component.
Performance
In all of these scenarios, the orchestration steps will now be expandable and collapsible, enabling the
orchestration designer to review and edit the child orchestration. When an orchestration is included as a
connector or a notification, the notification or connector can first be expanded, and then the
orchestration within can be further expanded if required.
The system also handles multiple levels of orchestration nesting, including nesting associated with
recursive scenarios. Furthermore, the system offers an expand-all functionality, as well as a collapse-all
functionality.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.4.4

Extend EnterpriseOne User Session to Externally Hosted Web Applications [390 : 07-Apr-2021]
The UX One framework offers EnterpriseOne users a converged, flexible, and configurable user
interface to all their enterprise applications. Now, even web-based third-party applications can be
configured into EnterpriseOne pages. This enhancement further improves the user experience by
enabling EnterpriseOne and third-party applications to share certain data, such as session information,
to provide a more integrated user experience and ensure efficient use of shared resources.
Pass OAuth 2.0 Client ID and Secret in the Request Body of an Orchestration [440 : 16-Jan-2021]
Orchestrations can invoke REST APIs securely from external systems by using industry-standard
authentication protocols such as OAuth 2.0. This protocol requires that a client ID and a client secret be
exchanged between the two systems.
This enhancement provides the orchestration designer the choice of sending the client ID and client
secret in the request header or in the request body, as is required by some third-party systems. With this
added flexibility, Orchestrator can interact securely with a broader range of third-party systems.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.5.2
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry: (All Industries)
This feature extends that capability to parameters that are passed through the response header instead
of the body. For example, after successful authentication, a REST service may return an authentication
token in the response header. This enhancement enables users to pass that token as a variable to
subsequent orchestration steps to maintain an authenticated session.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.5.2
Status: Available Type: Industry:
Health Check for Basic Auth Configuration for the AIS Server [460 : 16-Jan-2021]
The Health Check functionality provides a quick and easy way to determine if Basic Auth has been
configured properly for the AIS server, thereby simplifying the troubleshooting process.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.5.2
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry:
This feature now enables the orchestration designer to pass a report version into the report step
dynamically as a variable. For example, for a report that has many versions, an orchestration designer
can build a single report request and pass a version into that step from an orchestration input, or even
from a value that is derived in a previous orchestration step. In this way, a single report step can serve
to run any version of the report, giving orchestrations greater flexibility and intelligence.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.5.2
Status: Available Type: Industry:
Previously the only options for working with grid rows were to either select the first row or to select all
the rows; in contrast this feature enables the orchestration designer to pass in a specific list of grid rows
for the orchestration to operate upon. Particularly in cases where the rows to be acted upon are not
consecutive or cannot be filtered by a query, this feature gives the orchestration designer more control
over how orchestrations can interact with grid rows.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.5.2
Status: Available Type: Industry:
• Registration (Cross Reference): Identifies the devices that are authorized to send data to the IoT
Orchestrator and associates those devices to with data stored in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system,
such as equipment number, asset ID, location, business unit, etc.
• Rules Engine: Establishes criteria and thresholds against which the IoT Orchestrator evaluates
incoming device data to invoke the appropriate action based on conditions.
• Action (Service Request): Defines the specific JD Edwards EnterpriseOne application form or custom
Java program to be invoked as the result of a predefined condition. The IoT Orchestrator passes
incoming device data into the form(s) and launches the applications. Any JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
form, including customers' customized forms, can be invoked by the orchestration.
Using these building blocks, business analysts can design orchestrations that tie IoT devices directly to
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications, thus eliminating costly, mundane, and error-prone manual
input and operate enabling the enterprise operations based on accurate, real-time data.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.1.5.5
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: Customers benefit by eliminating costly manual processes, by reacting to—or avoiding—
business disruptions in real-time, and by analyzing historical data for continuous process improvement.
Examples: Sensors that report a condition such as location, temperature, vibration, flow, open/closed,
on/off are increasingly prevalent in equipment, vehicles, buildings, devices, etc. and so forth. Today
these sensors are largely used in isolation and disconnected from the operation side of the business.
This lack of integration with the ERP system leads to manual processes to try to leverage the sensor
data which leads to inefficiencies, poor response time, and reduction in benefits the sensors promised.
The information provided by these sensors would be extremely valuable if they were integrated with the
ERP system. Imagine that when a condition is met, such as a piece of equipment overheating, a
condition based maintenance alert could be automatically generated and issue a work order to
immediately address the problem. All in real time.
The intuitive GUI of the Orchestration Studio greatly lowers the complexity bar and enables business
analysts to build and deploy their own orchestrations with less reliance on technical resources.
Examples: For example, you can create orchestrations that enable EnterpriseOne to:
-Alert users to a required activity.
-Alert users to perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
-Provide audit data for safety compliance and security.
This latest enhancement provides a new Orchestrator Studio Home page that provides easy access to
orchestration component design pages and documentation. Additional new features include a
Transformations tool that enables you to easily map inputs between orchestration components, a Where
Used to view a list of all orchestrations where a component is used, and tools for importing and
exporting orchestration component files.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.0.5
Minimum Apps Release: 9.1
Status: Available Type: Integration Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: The Orchestrator Studio Home page enables self-guided development of orchestrations,
further simplifying the process of creating orchestrations. The added features shorten the learning curve
and provide the user with even more capabilities in the Orchestrator Studio.
Management of Internet of Things Orchestrator Components as User Defined Objects [420 : 12-
Jan-2017]
Starting with EnterpriseOne Tools 9.2.1 and Orchestrator Studio 3.0.0, orchestration components
created in the Orchestrator Studio are stored as user defined objects in EnterpriseOne. Each
orchestration component type—orchestration, service request, rule, cross reference, white list—is
managed as a separate UDO type in EnterpriseOne. Managing the orchestration components as user
defined objects enables customers to use the same utilities, security, and lifecycle management model
that is used with other user defined objects.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.1
Status: Available Type: Integration Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: This feature enables business analysts to manage IoT orchestrations as user defined objects.
This ability enables business analysts to effectively manage large numbers of components in an IoT
integration.
Data Service Support for Orchestrations and Service Versioning [430 : 02-May-2017]
A new data service request in Orchestrator Studio 5.0.1 enables users to create orchestrations that
retrieve data from EnterpriseOne tables and business views. For example, a user could write an
orchestration that simply returns a list of open purchase orders. In addition to the existing ability to
invoke JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications, this new feature gives users access to the wealth of
data stored in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne tables (subject to JD Edwards security).
The Process Recorder allows a business analyst to walk through a business process program by
program, form by form, field by field, and record each step of the process. At the end of the process, the
business analyst can save those recorded steps as a form request, which can then be edited in the JD
Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator Studio and used within an orchestration.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.2.4
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry:
Benefits: The Process Recorder makes the process of creating service requests a very natural, familiar
process for any user who knows how to use JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications.
The Orchestrator file transfer features use soft-coding records to enable the secure transfer of files
between EnterpriseOne and external systems. A system administrator can set up a soft-coding record
for a single connection to an external system; and a business analyst can create one or more
connectors that use this same connection to pass various files to that external system.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.2.4
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry:
Orchestrator Studio 6.1.0: Additional User Interface and Customer-Driven Enhancements [500 :
12-Apr-2018]
As part of JD Edwards continuous delivery of features, the following updates are available for
Orchestrator Studio to further help you simplify the digital transformation of your traditional business
processes into simplified, automated processes:
Arrays for orchestration inputs – You can include an array as an orchestration input, defining the set of
data to pass inside the array. You can use an array in two ways: with the orchestration "Iterate Over"
feature to repeatedly call a service request for each row in the array; add or update a grid by referencing
the array name inside the service request at the grid level.
Orchestration inputs section – To make it easier to work with orchestration inputs, the inputs section is
redesigned with three separate expandable grids to categorize manually entered inputs, inputs defined
from values returned from other orchestration components, and default system inputs.
"Select All Rows" in a form request – Use the "Select All Rows" option in the Form Request design
page if you want a form request to perform an action on all rows in a grid. Use this action if the form has
a feature or button for performing an action on all selected grid grows. For example, if you want to
"Select First Row" is now "Select Row" – On the Form Request design page, you can add this action to
the Order of Execution to select the first row. Or before adding this to the Order of Execution, you can
enter a variable name in the Mapped Value column of this row, so you can map an orchestration input to
this variable to pass in the row to select. Or you can enter a value in the Default Value column to specify
a specific row to select.
Defining Mapped Values and Default Values in a form request – The Orchestrator Studio now gives you
the option to define mapped values and default values in the Order of Execution area. Before, you could
only do this in the Available Actions area before adding an action to the Order of Execution.
Run Synchronously option for form requests – Enabled by default, this option ensures that the form
request completes all actions before the Orchestrator executes the next step in the orchestration. It also
ensures that the events in the EnterpriseOne application are run synchronously. This option is
recommended if there are steps that follow the form request in the orchestration or if you configure the
form request to return a response.
Application version determined by orchestration input – In a form request, you can leave the version of
the form blank, which gives you the option to pass in the version from an orchestration input.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.2.4
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry:
- Ability to suspend an orchestration and buffer the incoming requests while suspended; resubmit the
buffered requests after suspension
•You can create and assign categories to orchestrations, notifications, and their subcomponents.
Categories enable you to group and manage components that have a common purpose or attribute. For
example, you might assign the category "Demo" to the orchestrations and subcomponents that you use
for demonstrations. Orchestration designers can create new categories, and optionally share them with
others, from within the Orchestrator Studio. Shared categories are saved to an EnterpriseOne table;
they can be added, modified, and deleted using the Category Manager application (P980058).
•You can export multiple orchestrations and notifications belonging to a specific Orchestrator category
as a single file. For example, if you have a set of three orchestrations and two notifications with the
category "Demo," you can export all the five components as a single zip file. By default, the Orchestrator
also exports all the subcomponents (service requests, rules, and so on) of the orchestrations and
notifications, even if those subcomponents are not assigned the same category. In this way, you can
easily export and import the entire working sets of orchestrations and notifications.
System Administration
For the Server Manager console, the process of deploying to WebLogic Server is the same as in prior
releases; however, the option to deploy to OC4j is no longer available.
In general, WebLogic Server is functionally equivalent to using OC4j for the development client and
standalone client. The WebLogic Server product has relatively minor additional hardware requirements
as identified by Oracle Certifications for the affected JD Edwards EnterpriseOne products.
On-demand health checks on server instances managed by Server Manager in PC entry [1020 :
10-Nov-2021]
Automation and simplification are fundamental principles for JD Edwards low total cost of ownership. To
provide additional automation, key Server Manager functionalities can now be accessed through REST
APIs. These REST APIs are used to automate the provisioning of JD Edwards servers, monitoring
activity, and managing JD Edwards' environments. Additionally, customers can leverage this capability
to develop tailor-made solutions such as alerts and notifications for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
Server Manager supports on-demand health checks on the Enterprise, HTML, Application Interface
Services (AIS), Business Services Server (BSSV), Transaction (RTE) Server, and Oracle Database
Server.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.2
Status: Available Type: Industry:
Object Tracking and Enhanced Impact Analysis: This new capability provides tracking and visibility of
business functions (BSFN) execution within JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. Business functions are the core
logic processing for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne interactive/batch applications. Therefore, gaining
greater insight into their usage simplifies upgrade/patching processes, and assists with troubleshooting
performance, analyze issues, and manage compliance. Similar to tracking usage of interactive/batch
applications, business functions statistics are consumable by out-of-the-box UX One analytics and helps
customers identify business functions used in their business processes.
Batch Deploy of UDO Packages: This streamlines the process and reduces the effort of applying and
deploying key enhancements such as UX One and other User Defined Objects (UDOs). Customers can
now deploy multiple (UDO) packages at the same time and to multiple environments. They can also
view the generated deployment summary report.
Support Long, Complex Case-Sensitive Password for E1 DB Proxy User [1080 : 23-Sep-2021]

Edwards EnterpriseOne. This Database Proxy password is used to establish the connection between JD
Edwards EnterpriseOne and the Database that contains the EnterpriseOne tables.
The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne allows a maximum length of 40 characters for the Database Proxy User
Server Manager—Automated TLS Configuration between Console and Agent [1120 : 04-Nov-
2020]
This feature simplifies and automates the configuration of TLS-based JMX communications between the
Server Manager Console and the Server Manager Agents. This enhancement eliminates the need to run
multiple platform-specific commands for importing certificate file into Java keystore and truststore files.
Multiple commands have been found to be the root cause of the issue reported by customers trying to
implement this configuration by following the available documentation prior to the availability of this
feature. For secure JMX-based communication, both TLSv1.3 (for Weblogic with Java 1.8 update 261 or
higher) and TLSv1.2 (for Weblogic and WebSphere) versions of the TLS protocol are supported.

Form Extension - Associate Description with Edit Control on Form [1270 : 08-Apr-2021]
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to help customers reduce customization efforts and meet their
business requirements at a low cost by extending the extensibility framework. We continue to work with
the customers to identify common customization that can be done on the glass and have added new
capabilities and enhanced the extensibility framework. This will greatly help our customers to reduce the
customization involved and meet their business requirements without creating barriers in staying code-
current.
For instance, a customer using the Chart of Accounts application (P0901) wants to associate a
description with the Category Code field. Traditionally, to associate a description with an edit field on a
form, customers would have to access the Form Design Aid (FDA) and make the necessary changes—a
process that involves several steps, clicks, and delay which makes the entire process very tedious. So,
customers want a simpler way of completing this task. This new feature enables customers to associate
a description with the Category Code field on the glass without having to access the FDA, thereby
reducing the dependency on the FDA and eliminating customization, overhead, and the delay involved.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.5.3
Status: Available Type: Industry:

Digital Transformation
By allowing their choice of scripting languages, Orchestrator gives designers more freedom to use the
language that best aligns with the business requirements and their skills.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.5.4
Status: Available Type: Technology Industry:
Oftentimes during the development of orchestrations, the orchestration designer creates an individual
component, such as a form request, a data request, or a rule, and then wants to soon run that
component, perhaps for testing. Because individual components cannot be run directly, it is first
necessary to create an orchestration that contains the component, and then run that orchestration. The
process is not difficult, but it is unnecessarily tedious.

Form Extensibility - Adding Business View Columns on Edit Forms [140 : 09-Nov-2018]
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to empower citizen developers by providing frameworks to
personalize and extend their EnterpriseOne implementation without creating barriers. Citizen developers
can now add available business view columns on the transaction form header, grid, or both on the glass
as a user defined object. This extension can be further consumed on the available personalization and
extensibility frameworks such as personal forms, CafeOne, orchestrations, and so on.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.3
Form Extensibility - Hiding or Unhiding Form Controls, Renaming Labels [200 : 09-Apr-2020]
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to empower citizen developers by providing frameworks to
personalize and extend their EnterpriseOne implementation without the need for custom modifications
and developer skill sets. This enhancement to the form extensibility feature enables authorized users to
take the following actions on form extensions:
•Hide and unhide form controls
•Rename the labels on form controls, static labels, and even the form name itself
While this capability already exists in form personalizations, adding this capability to form extensions
means that the modifications to the forms will apply to all the versions of the application. This greatly
simplifies the process for creating and maintaining changes to forms that should apply to all the versions
of the application.
For example, a company uses Inventory Management but does not use the lot grade and lot potency
fields. To simplify the forms for users, the company may want to remove these fields for all users. Using
a form extension, the company can remove (hide) the lot grade and lot potency fields, and the change
would appear in all the versions of the application. This is accomplished as a single user defined object
(form extension) without the need for development tools, developer skills, or a custom modification.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.4.3
Status: Available Type: Feature Industry: (All Industries)
Benefits: •Enables citizen developers to provide a better user experience to all users simply, quickly,
and inexpensively
•Reduces the time, effort, and cost to modify forms across multiple versions
•Eliminates human errors in repeating modifications to forms across multiple versions
•Simplifies the maintenance of the modifications throughout the continuous adoption lifecycle
Hover forms enhance the way that users view the additional data on an application.
Modal forms enable a smooth transition between forms; the requested information appears in a pop-up
window so that the parent form is still visible behind it, providing the user some context.
Change: Added in Release Tools 9.2.1
List View Grid formats are personalized grid layouts users create to customize how their grid data
displays. List View Grid formats enable users to stack columns so information is compact and easy to
find, rather than spread horizontally across multiple columns. Using an intuitive interface, users select
the columns and labels they want to include in their List View Grid Format, and then group them in the
way they want them displayed.
