Starting An Essay With A Question

Crafting an essay on the topic of "Starting an Essay with a Question" may initially seem deceptively
simple, as questions inherently invite engagement and curiosity. However, delving into the intricacies
of this approach requires a nuanced understanding of the art of writing.

One challenge lies in striking the right balance between provocation and coherence. Questions can
spark interest, but they must seamlessly lead the reader into the essay's core ideas. Crafting a
question that not only captures attention but also aligns with the essay's theme requires finesse.

Moreover, the success of such essays hinges on the writer's ability to transition from the initial
question to a comprehensive exploration of the topic. Maintaining a logical flow and ensuring that
the question serves as a gateway rather than an isolated hook can be a delicate task.

Furthermore, the risk of rhetorical questions or those lacking substance must be carefully navigated.
Questions should provoke thought and curiosity without being superficial or gimmicky. Striking this
balance can be challenging, demanding a keen understanding of the subject matter and the audience's
expectations.

Ultimately, the difficulty lies in the subtle art of using a question as a tool for engagement without
compromising the essay's depth or coherence. It requires a writer to wield questions strategically,
making them an integral part of the essay rather than a mere ornament.

For those grappling with the intricacies of this task, seeking assistance becomes a viable option.

We Real Cool In this paper the topic that will be written about is the poem entitled We
Real Cool . This poem was written in 1960 by a woman named Gwendolyn Brooks. In
this paper three topics have been selected so that this poem will be able to be analyzed.
With each element, it will de discussed how those elements affected and interested me
while reading. The three elements that have been written about are form, language, and
content. Form, in poetry, can be understood as the physical structure of the poem: the
length of the lines, their rhythms, their system of rhymes and repetition (The Poetry
Archive, 2005 2010). Form is the technical word for the look and sound of language
(Kwikguide, 2009). In a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was a lot of confusion about what the writer was trying to get across. Initially,
the thought that the poem was referring to herself was a bit transparent, so
immediately the thought was that it was supposed to be a tragic poem. However, after
listening to the author read the poem, and did more research, there was complete
surprise. The poem was written to come off as a happy and a very positive poem. As it
was mentioned previously, the most interesting part about this poem is the We .
Gwendolyn is a very enjoyable sounding writer. She has a very strong pronunciation
and the age in her voice helps with the passionate sound of the reading. In conclusion,
form, content, and language come together in this literary work to offer a striking
emotional response from its reader. Without each of these specific components, the
poem simply wouldn t have the same effect. Form is necessary to provide structure,
content its scene and language its sound and feel. Gwendolyn Brooks has included each
ingredient to provide a brief, but strong feeling one way or another, for the young people
of this poem.

Introduction

For centuries, the beauty of Bengali women has been defined by their dark skin tones,
generous curves, sharp facial features and long, wavy hair. The traditional Bengali
woman adorned herself with glass bangles, bindi, nupur and nose pin and wore saris or
more recently, salwar kameez. All of these together paired with her submissive attitude,
were considered to be part of her beauty.
However, this notion of beauty has changed drastically in the last few decades.

After a hard day s work (of shopping, cooking, cleaning or office work) when she return
home and switches on the telly, she sees the beautifully clad women on the Hindi
sitcoms. In a world where globalization is spurred on, she thinks that looking like the
sexy actress is the rage. With each passing day she habitually watches the sitcoms and
her morale declines just a little more. She had thought of herself to be beautiful but her
thoughts were revolutionized once she saw the Hindi serials, where women have the
perfect designer attire for their super thin body, glitzy jewellery and a few kilos of make
up which still looks natural. She is under pressure of not only her conscience to look
as beautiful and trendy as the women shown in the sitcoms, but also by her peers who
are slowly beginning to imitate the dressing style of the female characters of the Hindi
serials. And thus, the reformation of Bengali traditions comes about. She sheds her
traditional sari and wears a short kameez and dozens of chunky bracelets instead of the
usual glass bangles. A visit to the neighbourhood hair dresser assures that she has
straightened her wavy locks and has had it layered like shown on TV. Her
transformation is complete. She has left her culture far behind and moved on towards
modernization. Bangladeshi Women
Even if some Bangladeshi women do not watch Hindi serials, they still look like breeds

The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber
Modernism has its origins in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and it is
characterized by a break with traditional styles of norms and rules. Modernism
experiments with literary form and expression, and it is driven by a desire to overturn
traditional modes of representation, and express new topics and sensibilities of their
time. In the short story, The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber we hear about man
versus nature, and we are being presented to the literary techniques of the modern era
for example the iceberg method. In the following I will focus on elements, such as a
characterization of Margaret and Francis Macomber and Wilson, a comparison between

He is a man of nature, which is what Francis travels to Africa to become. Francis
undergoes a change of his character throughout the story. He arrives in Africa,
thinking that he is going to own everything and kill every animal in his way. When he
gets there he realizes that it is not that simple. He is a civilized person who is not
adapted to nature, and he is not capable of handling situations like hunting a lion.
When he fails the shooting of the lion he becomes very ashamed, and he feels
humiliated. Francis makes sure that Wilson is not going to tell about the mistake to
anyone, because it would ruin the image he is trying to create. His wife, Margaret,
does not want to talk to him, and on the way home from the lion hunt, she ...had
reached forward and put her hand on Wilson s shoulder. He turned and she had leaned
forward over the low seat and kissed him on the mouth (page 12, line 31 33). Margaret
is all about pushing limits. She tries to awaken the wild and jealous side of Macomber,
by kissing Wilson right in front of him and having sex with him. She is not happy in
her marriage, but she does not want to leave her husband because of his money.
Therefore she tries to change him, and make him more of a man, by provoking him to
change. When Macomber shoots the buffalos, he does undergo a big change to a more
manly and fearless character. When he returns to the bush where one of the buffalos went
in to, it abruptly comes
