Lindah Project Final

This project presents working drawings and material estimates for plumbing systems in a building. Chapter 1 describes a cold water supply system to feed appliances like a shower and sink, a hot water system for shower and tub, and drainage system to the first manhole. Chapters 2 and 3 provide scaled drawings of the cold/hot water distribution and drainage layout. Chapters 4 and 5 estimate quantities of materials and fittings needed and provide costing for the plumbing systems.

DEDICATION

I dedicate this effort to the KNEC desk, my wonderful parents, my supervisor, and the entire team of
the Thika Technical Training Institute, who have helped me learn and have consistently served as
sources of inspiration. They contributed drive and enthusiasm to help me handle the problem that
was given to me.

God bless you and I appreciate you so much.

ii
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First of all, I want to express my gratitude to the All-Powerful God for guiding me this far
and providing me with a nice life while I was learning.

I would want to thank the many individuals whose work, encouragement, and direction were
necessary for the development of this project.

I am really appreciative to my project manager, Peter Karanja, who has always provided
advice on how to gain skills for writing the project.

I also want to express my gratitude to Mr. Charles Kigen, our class instructor, who has
always given me advice on how to approach academic challenges.

I also want to express my gratitude to Mr. Gitonga and Mrs.Gitonga, my parents, for their
wise counsel and wisdom that they instilled in me over the course of my two years of
education.

God bless you all.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

CHAPATER ONE
A cold-water system supply that supplies the shower, low level WC, bowl urinal, wash basin,
and bathtub.

a hot water supply system for the shower, bathtub, and washbasin.

a drainage system that collects waste and soil appliances from the shower, low-level WC,
bowl urinal, and bathtub.

CHAPTER TWO AND THREE

The drainage system, as well as the cold and hot water delivery systems, are shown in these
working drawings at a scale of 1:2.

CHAPTER FOUR
This section shows how much plumbing supplies and fittings are needed for the full drainage
system, including the cold and hot water distribution systems.

CHAPTER FIVE
This part provides an illustration of the going rate for the labor, cold and hot water
distribution system, drainage materials, and appliances.

CHAPTER SIX

This is a functioning program that shows activities for the complete installation in preparation.

vi
CHAPTER ONE

1.1 A complete Cold Water Supply System to feed all the Appliances

A cold-water supply system exclusively uses cold water from the storage system, which is
then piped via a 1-inch diameter to the appliances.
The water is then reduced from a 1-inch pipe to a 34-inch pipe that distributes water to the
appliance's point. Later, the pipe is reduced using a G.I. reducing bush and a hexagonal
nipple so that it can handle a 12-inch flex tube.

1.2 A Complete hot water supply system to feed all the appliances

A hot water cylinder receives water from a storage tank via a 1-inch pipe, where it enters, and
a 34-inch pipe, where it exits, supplying some items like a washbasin, bathtub, and shower.
1.3 A drainage system that drain all appliances upto the first manhole

All waste appliances are collected in a drainage system, which runs from the appliances
to the manhole as illustrated.
