IISER Pune - Course Content: Coordinator and Dr. Moumita Majumdar

The course Advanced Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory is offered in the 6th, 8th, and 32nd semesters at IISER Pune in January 2024. It is a 3-credit lab course coordinated by Dr. Moumita Majumdar and Dr. Nirmalya Ballav. The course aims to provide an overview of common experimental characterization techniques and basic inorganic chemistry knowledge. Students will develop the ability to correlate chemical and physical properties of elements and compounds, and establish the link between theory and practice through laboratory experiments. The course involves experiments in spectrochemical analysis, stoichiometry determination, redox titration, polymer synthesis, phosphorescence observation, NMR analysis, salt preparation, analysis by IR spectroscopy
