TYPES OF ORGANIZATIONS: work with LGUs,

NGOs, GOs, CIVIL SOCIETY, and Pos

ORGANIZATION
A group of people who work together to achieve a shared goal is represented
by an organization. An organization is formed when a group of people who are in
communication and relationship with one another and are willing to contribute to a
common goal or objective.

ELEMENTS OF ORGANIZATION:

People
All organizations require human members. While the organization will likely
have other forms of resources, such as capital and equipment, the involvement of
human beings is essential.
Distinct Purpose
The members of the organization collaborate to achieve a distinct purpose. The
organizational purpose generally includes the accomplishment of tasks or obtaining
the desired result. This purpose is typically expressed in terms of a goal or a set of
goals that the organization hopes to accomplish.
Deliberate Structure
The organization has a structure that is commonly recognized and adhered to
by all members. An organization may assume a legal business entity status that
controls its organizational structure. Means tasks are divided and responsibility for their
performance is assigned to organization members. EFFECTIVENESS. The degree to which
the organization achieves a stated goal, or succeed in accomplishing what it tries to do.

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN ORGANIZATION:

Clear Division of Work

Involves separating a complex work process into several components or tasks, each
of which a different individual or group of individuals may perform. By dividing labor among
two or more individuals or groups of employees, an organization can function more efficiently
and effectively. Division of work can help reduce wastage of resources and maximize
productivity. It is one of the core organizational concepts of an assembly line and typically
applies to all systems of mass production.
Cooperative Relationships

An organization fosters cooperative relationships among its members. Organizations

rarely consist of a single individual. They typically involve the participation of at least two
people. The organizational structure may be in such a way that it encourages individuals to
work together to complete their tasks. Workplace synergy improves through teamwork. Team
members may feel a stronger sense of accomplishment since they are partially responsible
for the outcomes. This can provide them with the motivation to perform well and develop
professionally.

Dynamic Processes

Organizations comprise people and expand their knowledge and experience over
time. Changes can influence various functions of an organization. As a result, organizations
may not behave or function the same way for extended periods of time. Successful
organizations evolve in response to changing consumer demands and business situations
and this is also the ability to support process change by any role, at any time, with very low
latency.

Hierarchy

An organization comprises several positions in a hierarchy with well-defined powers

and responsibilities for each. A central authority is typically present, from which a chain of
authority extends throughout the organization. The routes of communication and patterns of
interaction follow the relative hierarchy of organizational positions or designations. The order
