📚 Language Sloth Teacher's Manual 📚

1️⃣Introduction

👋 Welcome New Teachers!

Welcome to the Language Sloth community! We're thrilled to have you on board. This manual will guide you through
everything you need to know to have the best teaching experience on this server.

👩🏫 Roles & Responsibilities

► Role:
- Your primary role is to facilitate learning by imparting knowledge to students and creating an effective learning
environment.

► Responsibilities:
- Conduct at least one class per week, lasting a minimum of 40 minutes.
- Prepare the materials you will need to give your lesson.

🎒
- Show up to your scheduled lessons.

🔔 🔔󰏅
- If you can't make it, announce it in teachers-room and tag a @Lesson Management at least 4 hours before the
lesson and notify your students in lesson-announcements- .
- Follow our server rules (which you can find in #rules) inside and outside your classroom because you represent our
server. Inappropriate behavior or excessive swearing could lead to warnings being issued or your role being revoked.
⛔ Rules
- Do not use @everyone or @here in your messages.
- Do not ping any native or fluent roles in your announcements. Only ping the studying role for the language you are
teaching.
- No advertising other servers, self-promoting or asking for money during classes; this is volunteer work.
- Do not record or upload classes to any platform without permission.
- The classes must be held on our server. Do not invite students to external platforms like zoom, other server or any
other platform to host the lesson.
- Keep cameras turned off during class to prevent voice channel limitations, up to 25 people.
- If you want to attend another teacher’s class, unless it’s strictly as a student, you need to request permission from
the teacher before the class starts. They are allowed to sayno.

🗨 Communication

- With Teachers: Use the Teachers’ Lounge for social talk or to ask for suggestions from fellow teachers.

📚 Teaching Materials
- You're free to use any materials or resources you find effective for teaching such as PDF files, PPT, websites,
books, etc.
- You can share your materials in the resources channel at the bottom of the server or use Google Classroom. If you
chose the latter, please provide the link to a lesson manager first.

You can pick your own schedule which has to be confirmed by a lesson manager. Keep in mind that there can only
be 3 classes scheduled at the same time and classes of the same language must be within 2h difference with each

🛠 Troubleshooting
🎒
If you encounter difficulty opening your class due to the bot being down, please contact a lesson manager in
teachers-room so they can manually open the class for you. Report any other technical issues with bots to
@Lesson Management.

📝 Feedback
To see the feedback that students left you, go to #reward-students channel and on the top right check in the thread
called "↪-teacher-feedback".
