Improper Integrals

1. Some improper integrals converge and some diverge depending on the behavior of the integrand function near its points of discontinuity or as the limits of integration approach critical values. 2. L'Hospital's rule can be applied to indeterminate forms that arise when evaluating certain improper integrals, which may then be determined to converge to a finite value. 3. Whether an improper integral converges depends on the behavior of the integrand near points where it is undefined as well as at the limits of integration, including whether the function approaches zero or infinity. Variable substitutions may also be used to evaluate certain improper integrals.
