WHY ARE HEALTHY EATING HABITS IMPORTANT?

From the article “Why Are Healthy Eating Habits Important?”, the author explained about
the significance of healthy eating habits for people. A lot of people may think that healthy
eating does not play an important role in their health, and they aren't even concerned about it.
This article described the importance of healthy eating with details and how to practise
healthy eating habits in the lifestyle. The authors described the contents of the article with a
positive tone regarding the healthy eating habits.

There are six key points stated by the author. First of all, the differences between healthy
and unhealthy eating habits. Studies have shown that a plant-based diet has a lower risk of
being diagnosed with a chronic disease. Furthermore, the reasons to make healthy food as a
choice. For example, a healthy diet can prevent disease and it can affect people's mental
health. Moreover, reasons to strive for a healthy lifestyle in order to decrease the chance of
early death. Next, guides to improve and change people's eating habits such as making a plan
for a new healthy diet and trying to keep unhealthy food out of our sight. In addition,
establishing healthy eating habits in children whereby the best way is to eat together with
families since it generally consumes healthier diets, including more veggies and fruits and
less fast-food or takeout. Finally, an example of healthy foods to eat everyday. The article has
suggested eating healthy food such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts, and
seeds since none of them have a bad effect on human bodies.

The article is clear because the author’s explanation is very detailed about describing the
healthy eating lifestyle towards the reader. Based on the article, there are guides to practise a
healthy eating lifestyle and complete information about it. The article is well supported by the
research and it was medically reviewed by Kayli Anderson, RDN of American College of
Lifestyle Medicine on December 11, 2023. This proves that the article can be used as
references and guides about healthy diets. The author also uses the statement from a
nutritionist from Dallas, Alicia Galvin, RD and a senior clinical nutritionist in New York
City, Samantha Heller, RD about the differences between healthy and unhealthy eating habits.
According to the article, we agree with the author’s opinions and clarifications because the
contents in the article have successfully created consciousness about how the healthy eating
lifestyle would play such an important role to a human's health and how it will give a lot of
advantages that leads to a long life. The author also tells us to always have healthy eating
habits to prevent lots of diseases that may affect us and also to keep our mental well being.

Lastly, from our perspective, healthy eating habits are important to help protect people's
bodies againstẃ chronic diseases such as diabetes or heart diseases and it also supports
weight management since it provides essential nutrients. A balanced diet contributes to
sustained energy levels, better mental health and it helps improve digestive function. It plays
a role in disease prevention, promotes longevity and positive impacts of sleep quality,
concentration and productivity. Healthy eating also can enhance the overall quality of life by
supporting physical health and mental health.
