The genetic algorithm begins by creating a random initial population. At each step, the algorithm uses the individuals in the current population to create the children for the next generation. To create children, the algorithm performs the following steps: 1. It selects two parents from the current population based on their fitness scores. Higher fitness scores increase the probability of being selected. 2. It combines the genomes of the parents to create two children, either by crossover or mutation. Crossover combines parts of the parents' genomes, while mutation randomly changes parts of a single parent's genome. 3. The children are added to the next generation population. As new children are added, some existing individuals are removed to keep the population size
