is the lower limit? (Ans. 7)
2) If the difference of mode and median of a data is 24, then what is the difference of the median
and mean? (Ans. 12)
3) If the mean of the observations x, x + 3, x + 5, x +7 and x +10 is 9 then what is the mean of the
1
last three observations? (Ans. 113 )

unaltered. What is the weight of the 10th student? (Ans. kg)

6) The mean and median of the data a, b and c are 50 and 35 respectively, where a < b < c.
If c – a = 55, then find (b - a) ( Ans. 5)
7) If median = 137 and mean = 137.05 then what is the value of mode? (Ans. 136.9)
8) If X, M, and Z denotes mean, median and mode of a data and X : M = 9 : 8 then what is the
ratio M : Z ( Ans. 4 : 3)
9) The mean of 𝑥1 and 𝑥2 is 6 and the mean of 𝑥1, 𝑥2 and 𝑥3 is 7. What is the value of 𝑥3?

Section – C (ASSERTION REASONING)

Directions: In the following questions, a statement of assertion (A) is followed by a
statementof reason (R). Mark the correct choice as:
(a) Both assertion (A) and reason (R) are true and reason (R) is the correct
explanation ofassertion (A).
(b) Both assertion (A) and reason (R) are true but reason (R) is not the correct
explanation ofassertion (A).
(c) Assertion (A) is true but reason (R) is false.
(d) Assertion (A) is false but reason (R) is true.

15) Assertion: If the value of mode and mean is 60 and 66 respectively, then the value of median
is 64.
Reason: Median = (mode + 2 mean)/2 (Ans:c)
16) Assertion: If the number of runs scored by 11 players of a cricket team of India are 5, 19, 42,
11, 50, 30, 21, 0, 52,36, 27 then median is 30

Reason: Median = (n+1)/2, if n is odd. (Ans:d)

17) Assertion: The arithmetic mean of the following given frequency

distribution table is 13.81.

Reason: x̅ = ∑ fi xi / ∑fi (Ans:a)

Section D ( CASE STUDY)

18) Apples are most widely planted and are commercially the most important fruit crop in Jammu
and Kashmir. The cultivation of apple crop in Jammu and Kashmir shows particular interest
for a number of reasons. In terms of both area and production, apple is very beneficial fruit
crop. This provides a major source of income and employment in Jammu and Kashmir.
Horticultural department has tasked their statistical officer to create a model for farmers to be
able to predict their produce output based on various factors. A box containing 250 apples was
opened and each apple was weighed. The distribution of the masses of the apples is given in
the following table:

On the basis of the above information, answer the following questions:
