Design Calculation of Packing Support Plate

This document provides design calculations for a circular packing support plate made of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) with Atlac-382 resin. It includes specifications of the plate such as dimensions, load, and temperature requirements. Calculations are shown to determine the design allowables based on material properties and safety factors. The laminate design and thickness are also calculated. Finally, deflections of the plate are calculated at different radii when subjected to a uniform distributed load.

design load. Otherwise take the load limited load with
equal strain in both CSM and WRM in N/mm/Kg/sq mtr.

2.3 CONSIDERATION OF LAMINATE DESIGN : clause : 7.4

The glass content of 33 % is assumed/specified for CSM layers with

resin of density 1.1 gm/cc,
which gives tgi= 2.236 mm thickness per kg/sq. m glass for CSM

The laminate buildup is as follows. Layers A & B only are considered for the design calculations.
wi
A 300 gm/sq. m glass CSM layer 0.3 Kg/m2
B 450 gm/sq. m glass CSM layer 0.45 Kg/m2
