Note: There is a Spanish translation guide at the end of this document.
Supplies:

 1.5” 3-ring Binder

 3 page protectors

 Expo Dry-erase markers (variety of colors)

 Outdoor thermometer
Directions:

Print pages 5-23 on regular copy paper. Place pages 5-7 in page protectors back to back so that
these pages can be used with expo dry-erase markers and re-used daily.

Weekday Sheets: Each day have student fill out appropriate information for that day’s date. For ex-
ample if today’s date is January 1, 2012, today’s number is 1, and today’s number word is one. The
number before 1 is 0, and the number after 1 is 2.

Days in School: Have students fill in appropriate place values for how many days they have been in
school. For example if they have been in school 132 days, there will be a one in the hundreds
place, a 3 in the tens place, and a 2 in the units place.
Weather Thermometer: Have students check the outdoor thermometer and fill in the temperature
gauge as well as draw a weather appropriate outfit on the paper doll figure.
What time is it? Have students write in the current time in digital format, as well as write hands on the
clock.
Money: using today’s date, have students write out the money notation as well as how much mon-
ey they’ll need to make today’s number date. For example, if today is the 25th of the month, stu-
dents will write $0.25, they may choose 2 dimes and 5 pennies to create that date. For older stu-
dents, you can have them make the dollar amount more difficult by adding in the month. So for ex-
ample if today is September 25th, they would have $9.25. They would then write 9 dollars, plus two
dimes, and 1 nickel. Alternatively you can give students a money jar and have them count it each
day and put that total on the “how much money” line.

Tally Marks: Have students write one tally mark for each day they are in school. At the end of the
month have them count their tally marks and write the total days in school in the circle provided.

I can write my name: Have students do the best job they can writing in their name one time each
month for practice. At the end of the year, you can compare their handwriting progress!

100 days chart: Have students write one number in one square each day they are in school. When
they reach the star, have a 100 days party!
Month Charts: Have students trace the current months name, then trace over today’s number each
day to fill in the calendar for each month.

Weather Graph: Have students color in one box for the type of weather they are having each day
in school. At the end of the month discuss which type of weather they had the most/least of.
