I. Objective
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
1. Discuss philosophical views and how they influence human action regarding the
environment;
2. Notice disorder in their environment
3. Notice things that are not in proper places
4. Organize things in aesthetic manner
5. Show that care for the environment contributes to health
6. Demonstrate the virtue of prudence and frugality towards the environment.

II. Subject Matter


How does philosophy define the person’s relationship with the environment?
How can humanity address the damage inflicted on the environment?
What can I do to uphold environmentalism and care for nature

III. Procedure
1.Discuss and look around your community in school. Can you see evidence of changes
in the environment caused by people?
2.Can you see evidence of people adapting their activities to your school or local
environment?
3.Which part of your community or school do you consider most orderly? Which part
is disorderly?
4.How has pollution affected your health and well-being?

IV. Analysis
Analyze the following situations and determine which of them show the right or moral
choice with regard to the environment. Discuss your thoughts in class.
1. A mining corporation to save costs did not construct effective storing facility for
mining waste.
2. A businessman bought a large piece of farmland and decided to convert it into
subdivision.
3.A local official led a campaign to set aside several hecatres of forested land in their
city as watershed area.

V. Evaluation
Form groups of 5 members each. Research on a specific environment problem happening
in our country. Analyze it using any of the major philosophical views. Discuss your work
in class.

VI. Reflection:
Humankind is part of the world and we significantly affect our environment in the
same way that changes in our environment affect us.
