The USB drives listed below have been validated for use on the R-30iB/R-30iB Plus, R-30iB Mate /R-30iB Mate
Plus, R-30iB Compact, R-30iB Compact Plus and R-30iB Mini Plus controllers. There are consumer grade drives
and one industrial grade that can be purchased from a variety of retailers.
Due to part-to-part variations and possible changes in the hardware/chipsets overtime, there is potential that
some variants of the devices listed below may not work for specific applications. If an issue occurs, it is
recommended to either retry the operation again or use a USB device that has worked in the past. This potential
risk is lower on the Industrial USB drive as the manufacturer is less likely to make changes that could affect
performance of the drive.
The information contained in this Engineering Bulletin is valid until end of life of the USB product. FANUC America
continuously tests new USBs upon notification of manufacture part end-of-life or component changes and will re-
issue or revise this engineering bulletin.
