Functionality TYPE
The purpose of RPBIS board is to provide a connection
for up to 320 RPs for
the CP via the Regional Processor Bus, RPB.
IPN will be used to speed up
communication between the central processor
(CP) and adjunct processors (AP). The
interface is based on fast Ethernet.

EPSB is a non-blocking Ethernet switch which can be
used to create a local data network between RPPs.The
EPSB can be used to create a high-speed
communication path between the RPPs within the
same exchange.
Functionality
Provides switching capabilities between magazines as
well as within the magazine. External power is
connected to this board.
CPU
The MAUB implements the maintenance unit function
in APZ 212 55. It
interfaces with both CP sides, CDU, SCB-RP and
maintains the two CP sides.
processor board for APG43
RPSCB1E
It supports all codecs used in GSM system, i.e. EFR, FR,
HR and Adaptive MultiRate codec (AMR) HR & FR. It
also supports TFO for EFR, AMR-FR and AMR-HR.The
TRA R7 is built in a DSP ASIC technology developed
especially for speech processing. This results in the
ability to handle 384 speech channels per board, small
size and low power consumption. Compare to TRA R6,
the channel density is not reduced when running TFO
for narrowband codecs. It is connected to the Group
Switch via a DL34 interface and is controlled by the
APZ via an on-board regional processor (RPI).
The IRB receives three external synchronization
references that are terminated, converted and
distributed to the CGBs.
CGB generates Clock and Synchronization signal to the
switch. Two CGBs are housed in the same GEM, in case
of one GEM configuration (16 kMUPs). If the switch
size is bigger than 16 kMUPs the CGBs are housed in
different GEMs in order to improve the reliability of
the system.
The CDB distributes clock and synchronization to the
switch. It is necessary if the switch is bigger than 16
kMUPs.
The STEB implements signalling terminal (ST)
functionalities of No. 7 signalling using Nb and HSL
protocol in AXE 810 system. STEB supports up to: 4
HSL links or 128 Nb signalling links.
RPALI1E
The Generic Application Resource Processor ver. 2
(GARP-2) is equipped with a MPC 8548E processor
and 1GB of DDR SDRAM. Connected to the processor
via an PCI Express interface is an FPGA. The FPGA is
connected to the DL34 interface in the backplane.
GARP-2 has two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces in the
backplane and two on the front

EXPANSION Functionality
The SCB handles all the data switching
between the different boards of the node. It
can also be used to connect the different
extension subracks to the main subrack. The
Switch Core Board connections are done by using Inter Subrack
Links (ISLs).
SCBs always exist in pairs, installed in each
subrack in slots 1 and 28.
it act as CP in MGW, present in slot 2 and3 in

The MSB board is used for the user data
processing. It can be loaded with different
Media Stream Board SW applications to support different data
processing configurations.
