Presentation #1 - “Tell me about yourself” – the dreaded interview question – 1 minute

Question Prompts
Use the following questions as prompts to think about what you will say in a brief video introducing
yourself to a potential employer.

- List your three best qualities and a real-life example of a time that you demonstrated each
quality

- What’s your biggest achievement so far? Why?

One of my biggest professional achievements is a new sales pitch at work that lead to a 50%
increase in sales over my first year.

- What’s an obstacle you overcame or a problem you solved? What did you learn?

I had a rough childhood, was living in middle income poverty. Did not have money for education or for
clothes. Somehow my father and I managed to do some studies by Freelancing.
- Write something related to the industry you are going into that you’re passionate about. How
will your passion show in your work?

Clothing Industry I want to do business in clothing, because in my home country I was exporting clothes
too and we have a big setup right now in my home country I want to import here and sell.

From the questions above, highlight the most interesting things that get to the heart of who you are and
show your value as an employee and summarize this into a short story.

Answer Starters…

qualities of course)
“For example, _________________” (tell your best real-life story that proves one of those
qualities)
2. “I love to ________________” (something you’re passionate about in the industry you are
studying to join)

Then describe a goal you have related to this passion or how you will improve your skills and
stay up to date in the field, or describe any achievements you already have in this field.

Introduction (15 seconds)

Body (30-60 seconds)

I will discuss about obstacles in life and how I overcome the problems.

Current job and previous experience and future planning.
