What can I do for .(CHOLERA)...?
A few hours or days after contracting the disease, it suddenly begins, often with sudden
cramps in the back, legs, or arms.
Often there is severe vomiting. So much fluid is lost that he becomes
extremely thirsty, and the skin becomes dry.
Stools become thin, and contain small, white, curd like masses. Some cases of cholera are very light,
and have few symptoms other than the diarrhoea
What CAUSES it🤔
Cholera occurs especially in hot, tropical climates. Filthy living conditions is generally the primary
factor.
Bowel discharges from those with cholera must be boiled to kill the germs. When this is not
done, the disease spreads.
Flies, cockroaches, ants and mice all carry the disease.
But one cannot get it if he only eats and drinks that which has been boiled.
Water and milk must be
boiled.
Vegetables and fruits must be washed, and then immersed in boiling water for a few seconds,
then peeled.

Make ice with boiled water. Use this water for daily tasks like brushing and washing the

peppermint or spearmint tea is helpful.
Have patient drink a pint, then put your finger down

A diet of oatmeal water or slippery elm water is both nourishing and soothing.
Combine
with some soy milk to provide a
protein.
The use of lemon for example is very popular in reducing the levels of cholera bacilli in the intestines
and digestive system.
*Lemon juice drunk either sweet or salted can help* .
A decoction of the root bark of the guava tree and boiled water should be drunk twice daily to reduce
cholera symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.
Mix equal quantities of coconut water and cucumber juice to relieve excessive thirst and prevent
dehydration.
*Rough chaff* also known as Achyranthes aspera should be mixed with half cup of water and given to
the cholera patient daily.
*Fresh juice of bitter* guard can be given to the patient twice a day during the early stages of infection.
This can be either taken alone or with two teaspoons of white onion juice twice a day for curing the
diseases before they become serious.
Drumstick leaves are a very valuable in the treatment of cholera.*
A concoction prepared by mixing one teaspoon of fresh drumstick leaf juice with half a tablespoon of
honey in, 2 cups of tender coconut water can be taken twice a day for curing cholera at a faster rate.👆🤔
[Drinking a decoction made from basil leaves several times a day is an effective
Cucumber leaves as well as cucumber is used in curing cholera as it can decrease thirst feelings in the
patient.
One glass of fresh cucumber leaf juice with an equal amount of tender coconut water can be given in
doses of 30-60 ml a day for better .
Powdered root of chaff is another important .
Six grams of this powder can be boiled in one litre of water and the prepared solution can be taken once
in a day for curing cholera.

A solution of 4 heaped teaspoon of honey and half teaspoon of salt in water can be taken several times
a day for reducing fluid loss from the body due to infection.
Taking a glass of nut milk with one teaspoon of cumin seeds added in it is helpful in curing cholera
infection.
This can be given to the patient once in a day for better results.
A bowl of rice water can be given to the patient infection as drinking rice water is best for diarrhea
which is one of the main symptoms of the disease.
Solid food items should be avoided and instead liquid food can be given to the patients. Uncooked
vegetables should be also avoided unless making sure that they are well cleaned and fresh. Lemon juice
and orange juice can be given daily for rapid cure. Onion and mint can be included in the diet in liquid
form.💪🤔
AS the patient’s recovery progresses, with a move from watery diarrhea to a semi solid stool stage, nut
milk can be added to the diet. As he/she recovers, semi-soft boiled rice can be introduced as well. Make
sure that solid foods and uncooked vegetables are avoided completely until there is a complete
recovery. The diet after recovery from cholera should include a glass of warm water with lime and
honey as soon as the patient gets up.
Breakfast can consist of fresh fruits and milk. Play around with variations of steamed vegetables or
salads for lunch and dinner.
Proteins and carbs can come in the form of tofu, and whole wheat tortillas. Fresh fruit juices can be had
as mid morning and evening.
IMMEDIATE CONSIDERATION—Secure rest to the stomach and bowels by withholding food. Rest
in bed.
VOMITING—Ice Bag over stomach. Ice pills; Ice Compress to the throat. Fomentation to spine; Ice
Bag to spine; Hot and Cold Trunk Pack.
DIARRHEA—Hot Enema after each bowel movement; Fomentation over abdomen every 2 hours,
duration 20 minutes during interval between Heating Compress at 600 F., renewed every 30 minutes. If
the temperature is above 1020 F., Prolonged Neutral Bath or Hot Blanket Pack followed by Cold Mitten
Friction or Cold Towel Rub.
COLLAPSE—Hot Blanket Pack for 15 minutes, followed by Cold Mitten Friction.
CARDIAC WEAKNESS—Ice Bag over heart.

Two or three were taken in a large spring wagon on spring mattresses. But this man who was suffering
from
inflammation of the bowels, sent for me to come to him. My husband and I decided that it would not do
to
move him. Fears were entertained that mortification had set in. Then the thought came to me like a
communication from the Lord to take pulverized charcoal, put water upon it, and give this water to the
sick
man to drink, putting bandages of the charcoal over the bowels and stomach. We were about one mile
from
the city of Denison, but the sick man's son went to a blacksmith's shop, secured the charcoal, and
pulverized
it, and then used it according to the directions given. The result was that IN HALF AN HOUR THERE WAS
A
CHANGE FOR THE BETTER.
We had to go on our journey and leave the family behind, but what was our
surprise the following day to see their wagon overtake us. The sick man was lying in a bed in the wagon.
The
blessing of God had worked with the simple means used.”

Indigestion: “TEACH NURSES AND PATIENTS the
VOMITING:
Adults: Take 2-3 Heaping T. Charcoal in water. Take as needed.
Children: You can try 1 T. with them. Wait till after gag-reflux time to give it to them. This will prevent
them from vomiting it up.
***For children, be sure to put charcoal in a sippy cup that is colored on the outside so they can’t see
the charcoal on the inside…otherwise, they are not going to want to drink it.
Be sure to take 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking medication.🙏🤔🙏🤔
WHAT IS ACTIVATED CHARCOAL?
Activated charcoal is used in water filters, medicines that selectively remove toxins, and chemical
purification
processes. Activated charcoal is carbon that has been treated with oxygen. The treatment results in a
highly
porous charcoal. These tiny holes give the charcoal a surface area of 300-2,000 m2/g, allowing liquids or
gases
to pass through the charcoal and interact with the exposed carbon.
The carbon adsorbs a wide range of impurities and contaminants, including chlorine, odors, and
pigments.
Other substances, like sodium, fluoride, and nitrates, are not as attracted to the carbon and are not
filtered
Out.
Because adsorption works by chemically binding the impurities to the carbon, the active sites in the
charcoal
become filled. Activated charcoal filters become less effective with use and have to be recharged
or replaced. Several factors influence the effectiveness of activated charcoal.
The pore size and distribution
varies depending on the source of the carbon and the manufacturing process. Large organic molecules
are
absorbed better than smaller ones. Adsorption tends to increase as pH and temperature decrease.
Contaminants are also removed more effectively if they are in contact with the activated charcoal for a
longer time, so flow rate through the charcoal affects filtration....
FEVERS:
Charcoal Poultice over the abdomen with HOT COMPRESS ON TOP.
Change compress as needed to keep hot.
Apply cool rag to head. Feverfew Tea works great for fevers as does sucking on lemons...NEVER USE
COLD OR
ICE APPLICATIONS
Be sure to change charcoal poultice every couple of hours
Give plenty of water to drink.

Water purification is now being taken to the sunlight.
Chlorination kills many water-borne diseases, but
the chlorine has certain carcinogenic (cancer-causing) effects. With ultraviolet light. The four most
dangerous water-borne bacterial infections are cholera, typhoid,
bacillary dysentery, and hepatitis. It has been demonstrated that sunlight can kill such bacteria to some
depth, if the flow of water is slow enough so that the ultraviolet radiation can effectively reach them.
