About me
Jane Wanjiru is a GIS Specialist who perused degree in Bachelor of Science in GIs with IT in Maseno University located in Kisumu. My passion in GIS is greatly
brought about the fact that I can be able to collect, manupilate and present data in order to solve a problem. Field work including data collection using survey
instruments, data manipulation using GIS software, spatial data analysis using relevant tools
such as SPSS and Excel, cartography data visualization using maps and other formats just to mention a few are ways in which I was able to learn and use during
my study and also during the projects that I had an opportunity to attend and participate. Having studied GIS from introduction of basic handling of geo related
information, I have learned to apply GIS across multiple disciplines including agriculture sector, health sector and other core sectors in the management of
projects and also being able to give an input in both the national and county affairs. I am passionate for GIS and Cartography techniques which are
growing technologies in the field of data acquisition, analysis, visualization and data management for use in different fields of application. I have
skills in data collection using geospatial data collection tools i.e,. GPS, total station am also proficient in data databases development and creation
of relational environments within the geodata, data visualization and maps generation.
I have worked on various projects including course work Case studies employing relevant technologies example GIS, Cartography, Remote sensing and
application of the suitable software from the range of GIS applications to ensure the outputs of the work communicate to the client to the best.
