I believe that art is for everyone. All it takes is a

paintbrush, a few color swatches, and the desire to
create something beautiful.
how it started

I started the Pantone challenge in January 2020.

At the time, I was studying graphic design in school,

making art on and off, trying to make it a more consistent
practice. I struggling with finding my creative voice and
a constant sense of perfectionism that left me feeling
discontent with everything I made. I frequently compared
myself to other artists, stuck in a cycle of replicating their
work and feeling unable of creating art authentic to me.

The idea of painting on Pantone cards came to me.

We often used them for design projects in school,

so one day I thought, “why not try painting on
them?”. I started by posting them online everyday
for a month. Slowly I started to learn the value of
making art a daily practice — it taught me to step
out of my usual creative routine, to set aside any
fearful thoughts and insecurities and focus on the
little time I had each day to create.

Thousands of you have now joined in on the challenge!

I’m so proud of all the art this challenge was able to
inspire, and I can’t wait to see what this next round has
in store for us!
 how to join

WHAT IS IT?

A 30-day art challenge using Pantone cards to make art

on a different color swatch each day.
At the end of the month, you will be left with a collection of
artworks reminding you of your journey as an artist.

GETTING PREPARED

1. You will need Pantone postcards to work on! You can

either buy them on Amazon or create your own! I first
created mine using wall paint swatches from Home Depot
and sticker labels.
2. Your choice of art supplies — I will be using gouache
paint! Some other materials you can use are acrylic paint,
digital painting, markers, ink, etc.
3. Review the colors for each day — get a head start by
sketching out some ideas!
