The mandatory qualifications for the role of PGT Biology include a Master's Degree from a recognized University with a minimum aggregate mark of 50% in Biology and an overall 50% in the relevant subject combinations like Botany, Zoology, Life Sciences, etc. Additionally, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree is required. Desirable skills include knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Office, the ability to read/write/communicate in Hindi, CTET/STET qualification, and competence to teach through English medium .

Desirable qualifications such as proficiency in Hindi and MS Office are not strictly mandatory but play a significant role in enhancing a candidate's resume by showing adaptability to the school's medium of instruction and operational needs. These skills facilitate teaching effectiveness in a bilingual environment and support the integration of technology in education, thus providing candidates an edge during the selection process .

The pay scale for regular posts at Air Force Schools follows the guidelines of the VII CPC. Age limits vary by position: PGTs must be below 36 years, TGTs below 32 years, PRTs and Computer Programmer-cum-Operators below 30 years, and Lab Assistants along with LDCs below 27 years. These age restrictions help ensure that staff members are within a working age range conducive to innovative teaching and adaptability to institutional needs .

The recruitment process incorporates provisions such as age relaxations for various categories to ensure fairness. These include additional concessions for female candidates, ex-servicemen, and individuals with prior teaching experience. The age is reckoned as of the last application receipt date, and maximum age limits can also be relaxed under certain conditions such as dependence on incapacitated Air Force personnel. The maximum recruitment age generally does not exceed 45 years, with specific relaxations depending on circumstances .

Experience certificates are crucial as they provide proof of practical teaching experience, which is considered beneficial in the selection process. Candidates with relevant teaching experience in recognized schools are preferred since it showcases their ability to manage classroom environments and understand academic expectations. Such experience can also impact age eligibility as certain years of experience may allow for relaxation in the age criteria, thereby broadening the candidate pool .

Computer literacy, especially in MS Office and related applications, is highlighted as a desirable qualification to enhance a candidate's effectiveness and efficiency in non-teaching roles. This skill is critical for managing administrative tasks such as report writing, data management, and communication, which increasingly rely on digital platforms. Thus, it supports operational efficiency and modern workplace expectations, making candidates more competitive for roles like LDC, librarian, and computer programmer .

The interview procedure follows the written test as an advanced stage of the screening process. Only candidates who pass the written test are invited, indicating a tiered selection approach. This allows for an in-depth assessment of a candidate’s practical knowledge, teaching aptitude, and personal suitability for the role. The interview scheduling and notification through school websites ensure transparency and preparedness among shortlisted candidates, while serving as a decisive phase before final selection .

The age relaxation policy grants female candidates a general concession of 10 years in the age limit for PGT, TGT, and PRT categories, facilitating greater inclusion of women in teaching roles by accommodating potential career breaks or late entry into the workforce. This policy promotes gender equality within the recruitment process but also stipulates that women can only avail one type of age relaxation. As such, it balances inclusion with equity, aligning with broader educational and societal norms for enhancing female workforce participation .

Candidates wishing to apply for multiple teaching posts must submit separate applications for each position, along with the requisite fee for each. This ensures candidates take a considered decision on preferred posts and manage test scheduling since written tests for different positions occur close together, potentially overlapping. This approach helps streamline the selection process across different vacancies while allowing candidates flexibility in choosing their potential roles .

Requiring offline application submissions can lead to challenges such as accessibility issues for candidates who may not reside near submission venues and increased risk of postal delays, which the school explicitly states they are not responsible for. However, it ensures that all applications are physically verified before processing and might reduce instances of technical submission errors. It also reflects the school's operational readiness for handling physical documents, although it poses barriers in terms of convenience and efficiency compared to online submissions .
