Drawing Waves - Answers
Draw the second wave for each of the examples below using the blank grid provided.
1. Student answers may vary but the amplitude must be greater than one square. For
the frequency to remain the same there should be 1.5 waves shown in their answer.
2. Student answers may vary but there should be fewer than three complete waves
shown in their answer. The amplitude of the waves should be one square high.
3. Student answers may vary but the length of one wave should be longer than one
square. The amplitude of the waves should be one square high.
4. Student answers may vary but there should be more than 1.5 waves shown for the
frequency to be higher. The amplitude of the waves should be two squares high.

5. Student answers may vary. The amplitude of the waves drawn must be smaller
than two squares high. There must be fewer than three complete waves drawn for
the frequency to be lower.
6. Student answers may vary. The wavelength of the waves in the answer must be shorter
than four squares long. The amplitude must be greater than half a square high.
7. Student answers may vary but there must be more than three complete waves
drawn for the frequency to be higher. The amplitude must be one square high.
8. For the frequency to be twice as high 1.5 waves must be drawn. The waves will
also have a wavelength four squares across. The amplitude of the waves will be
two squares high.
