Use
You can use report /SCWM/R_INITIALSTOCKUPLOAD to perform an initial stock data transfer in Extended Warehouse
Management (EWM). There are two ways to copy existing data:
You upload a local comma-separated values le (CSV le), which contains the data that EWM is to copy.
The structure of this le must correspond to the elds of structure /SCWM/S_STOCK_UPLOAD_EXT. When EWM imports
the data, the system ignores the rst line of this le, as it usually contains the column headers.
You upload a le from an application server, which contains the data that is to be transferred by EWM.
In this case, EWM uses a connection to the Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW). For more information about
the LSMW, see SAP Library under SAP ERP SAP Oil & Gas SAP Oil & Gas (IS-Oil Downstream) Integration of SAP
Oil & Gas with SAP CRM F&A Pricing in Integration with SAP CRM Legacy System Migration Workbench .
Prerequisites
You have de ned all storage bins for which you want to transfer stock data. In Customizing for EWM, choose Master
Data.
If you use the LSMW for the data transfer, you must select object 0225 Warehouse Stock (EWM) in the LSMW. Work
through the individual process steps sequentially in LSMW.
Features
Note
If you are using a template for your product numbers, you have to specify the products in le you want to upload without this
template.
When EWM imports the data, the system checks the data. If the data contains no errors, you can then post it in EWM. If the data
contains errors, EWM displays the error messages in a log.
If you want to copy existing data using a le, you can map the physical structure of your stock in the le. You can import different
item categories, for example:
Stock in handling units (HUs) in storage bins and stock in nested HUs in storage bins
You can specify valid UoMs for the given product in the column UNIT. If you specify an alternative UoM other than the base UoM,
the system creates the stock in that UoM. This alternative UoM can be used for processes connected to the stock-speci c UoM
feature.
The following table shows the different item categories that you can use in the le. All elds that you must specify for the
respective item category are marked with an X, and all elds that are optional are marked with an O. If you want to upload stock
to HUs, you must specify the storage bin in the column 1 Highest-Level HU. If you want to load stock without HUs, you must
specify the storage bin in the column 4 Stock. This is indicated in the following table with an (X) symbol.

Specifying HU Numbers
You can set the value X in the le in the column EXT_NO. This allows EWM to use the speci ed external numbers for HUs.
Prerequisite for this is that the external number lies within an external number range interval that you have de ned in

under Cross-Process Settings Handling Units External Identi cation De ne Number Ranges for HU Identi cation .
If you specify item category 6 in the le, you can specify serial numbers for a stock item with item category 4 by connecting the
values in columns ROW and REFROW with each other. To do this, proceed as follows:
If you specify a serial number with item category 6, you must specify in the row of the serial number in eld REFROW the
value of the eld ROW in the row of the related stock item as a reference to item category 4. By doing this, you assign the
serial number to a stock item that is valid for the data that you want to process.
Count the columns ROW up for every data row so that the row is unique.
You must also specify the serial number in the SERID eld.
If the stock item belongs to a product that is relevant for Catch Weight, you must specify the catch weight quantity and
its unit in the elds CWQUAN and CWUNIT.
If you want to display the fact that the catch weight quantity was measured, you must specify the CWEXACT eld.
You can also make no entries in all of the above elds. In this case, EWM calculates the catch weight quantity and uses the
planned factor from the product master for it.
If the stock item is to be valuated at a different price than the price maintained in the product master, you can enter a
different amount in local currency. Specify the amount in the AMOUNT_LC eld.
If the product is both split valuated and batch managed, the valuation type is determined from the batch master for the
batch that is speci ed in the BATCH eld.
If the product is split valuated but not batch managed, you must specify the valuation type in the BATCH eld.
Example
Example of a File Structure for the Stock Data Transfer
You want to map a pallet that contains a box. This box contains 10 pieces of product 01 and 10 pieces of product 02. The pallet
and its contents are located in storage bin 0001-01-01-01. You do not make an entry in the column EXT_NO. EWM assigns
numbers for the HUs from the internal number range interval that you previously de ned in Customizing for EWM. The following
list shows you the required elds that you must specify in the le:

You want to bring the same stock mentioned in the example above to storage bin 0001-01-01-01, however, you do not want to
use HUs. The following table shows you the data that you need to enter to achieve this:
Procedure
1. On the launchpad, choose Extended Warehouse Management Interfaces Upload Stock .
2. Specify a warehouse number and language, as the units of measure are language-dependent.
The highest number of handling units per posting is set at 50 pieces. You can change this value.
For example, you must select the checkbox in one of the following cases:
Stocks are already posted in SAP ERP, meaning you only have to post them in EWM.
a. Specify the location from which you want to upload the le:
If you are working with a le on an application server, the data is fetched from the application server, and EWM
displays it to you.
Example

You are using a local CSV le. After EWM uploaded the le and displays the data, you noticed that the
formatting of the CSV le is incorrect. You correct the formatting and upload the le again. If you upload a le
from an application server, you can make corrections directly in the Legacy System Migration Workbench
(LSMW) and then upload the le again.
c. Choose .
EWM stores the data in the database, and shows you an error log if any errors occurred.
