Unit-I

1 State the difference between detailed estimate and abstract L2 CO1


estimate.
2 Prepare the approximate estimate of a proposed construction of a L3 CO1
building with the following.
i) Plinth area = 116m2
ii) Cost per unit area = Rs 1800/- per m2.
iii) Electrification @ = 7% of building cost.
iv) Formation of roads and lawns at 5% building cost.
v) P.S charges at 3% building cost.
3 What are the different types of estimations and explain in detail? L1 CO1
4 Write a detailed specification for the following items of works. L2 CO1
(i) Cement concrete in Foundation (1:2:6)
(ii) Painting of walls (3 coats)
(iii) 1st Class Brick Work in CM (1:6)
5 Give the detailed specifications for Reinforced cement concrete L1 CO1
(R.C.C)

Unit-II

1 Prepare the rate analysis for Plastering in CM 1:4 for unit 1sq.m. L3 CO2

2 Determine the rate of one cubic meter for the given item as per L3 CO2
the rate analysis.
i) P.C.C in foundation (1:2:4)
ii) Cement motor (1:4)
3 Calculate the rate analysis for I-class Brick work in Superstructure L3 CO2
with 20x10x10 cm Brick with 1:6 Cement sand Mortar per Cu.m.
4 Prepare rate analysis for 2.5 cm thick C.C. flooring with 1:6. Unit L3 CO2
is 1 Cu.m.
5 Prepare the rate analysis for R.C.C. work in beams with mix L3 CO2
proportion 1 : 2 : 4 for unit 1 Cu.m.

Unit-III
Estimate the quantity of earthwork for a portion of a road from the following L3 CO3
data. Road width at the formation surface is 8m. Side slope 2:1 in banking &
1.5:1 in cutting. Length of the chain is 30m.

internaldimension. The thickness of the slab is 13 cm. The thickness of the
walls is 40cm. Calculate the quantities of steel and concrete.

5 Fig shows the longitudinal sections & Cross-sections of a simple beam of clear L3 CO4
span 5.0m. The thickness of the supporting wall is 30cm.

Unit-V
Estimate the quantities for the following items for the figure given L4 CO6
below using long and short wall method shown in fig.
i) Earth work excavation in foundation
1 ii) Cement concrete in foundation
iii) 1st Class Brick work in foundation &plinth
iv) 2.5 CM Thick damp proof course.
v) Brick work in super structure
2 Estimate the quantities of the following items of a two roomed L4 CO6
building from the given plan and section shown in fig.
(1) Earthwork in excavation in foundation,
(2) Lime concrete in foundation,
(3) 1st class brickwork in cement mortar 1:6 in foundation and plinth,
(4) 2.5 cm c.c. dam proof course, and
(5) 1st class brickwork in lime mortar in superstructure.
3 Estimate the following building by using center line method. L4 CO6
(1) Earthwork in excavation in foundation,
(2) Lime concrete in foundation,
(3) 1st class brickwork in cement mortar 1:6 in foundation and plinth,
(4) 2.5 cm c.c. dam proof course, and
(5) 1st class brickwork in lime mortar in superstructure.
