more effective than teaching isolated approach in which they are the main emphasis
bits of information. and the teacher is only a facilitator.
ANALYZE
What is the best method of teaching? Is there such a thing?
Student-centered and collaborative learning is the ideal teaching strategy. in which the
requirements of the students are the main topic of the class discussion. Teachers are merely
facilitating and directing them; this is another opportunity for students to learn a variety of
abilities. Learners work together on activities in collaborative learning to develop a sense of
community within the classroom.

us choose the best strategy. As
educators, it is crucial that we are aware of the situations that each student is in. Knowing
them or being aware of each learner's needs is crucial so that we can comprehend and take
certain aspects of the learning process into consideration.
Activity 10.2 Determining Outcome- Based Teaching and Learning
Resource Teacher: ______ Teacher's Signature: ______ School: _______
Grade / Year Level: _______ Subject Area: ________ Date: ________
OBSERVE
FIELD STUDY 1: LEARNING EPISODE 10
PREPARING FOR
TEACHING AND LEARNING
Observe a class and answer the following questions.
1. Did the Teacher state the learning objectives/ intended learning outcomes ( ILOs ) at
the beginning of the class? Did he/ she share them with the class? How?
Yes, the teacher always states the goal or the desired learning outcomes first. Before
introducing it to the students, she set explicit objectives or learning outcomes.
Basically, the goals she creates are detailed, measurable, achievable, realistic, and
time-bound, which will greatly fit the students.
2. What teaching - learning activities ( TLAs ) did he/ she use? Did these TLAs help him/
her lesson objectives/ ILOs? Explain your answer.
The teacher will employ group projects where students will collaborate. where the
students can work both individually and together. She also exhorts them to engage in
conversation and active participation.
3. What assessment task /s did teacher employ? Is/ are these aligned to the lesson
objectives/ ILOs?
The teacher was unable to give the evaluation in a video clip. Another method of
evaluating learners is by asking questions that were in line with the learning objective
or results. It allows us to assess whether we achieved the discussion's goals
ANALYZE
1. What are your thoughts about Outcome - Based Teaching band Learning ( OBTL )?
Every learner's learning process benefits from instruction that is focused on their goals.
wherever their demands and results are the main focus. It also serves as a gauge for
student development. Setting reasonable learning goals and clear expectations for each
student aids in their development.
REFLECT
Reflect on the use of OBTL.
FIELD STUDY 1: LEARNING EPISODE 10
PREPARING FOR
TEACHING AND LEARNING
By identifying the desired learning goals and ensuring that they are applied to each learner,
outcome-based teaching and learning is used. The activities for teaching, learning, and
assessment must be in line with the specified learning outcomes. creating quantitative and
observable objectives for learning outcomes is also important.
Activity 10.3 Applying Effective Questioning Techniques
Resource Teacher: ________________ Teacher’s Signature: __________ School: ___________________
Grade/Year Level: _________________ Subject Area: _______________ Date: _____________________
OBSERVE
Observe a class activity. You shall focus on the questions that the Resource Teacher asks
during the classroom discussion. Write the questions raised and identify the level of
questioning.
Types of Question Examples of Questions that the Resource
Teacher asked
1. Factual/ Convergent The instructor questioned the student about
Closed/ Low level what, who, where, and when.
2. Divergent/ Higher- order The learner enquired about people's
Open- ended/ Conceptual perspectives on the subject or their more in-
depth ideas.
a. evaluation The instructor inquired about their concept of
reflections.
b. interfere She enquired as to what the movie "Dirty
Linen" implies.
c. comparison She inquires as to how each person's sex and
gender differ.
d. application She questioned how they might apply what
they had learned in real-world situations.

e. problem- solving She allowed the pupils to use a collaborative
project to illustrate the traits of each gender.
3. Affective She inquires about their opinions of our
community's gender equality.
ANALYZE
1. Neil Postman once said: " Children go to school as question marks and leave school as
periods!" Does this have something to do with the type of questions that teachers ask
and the questioning and reacting techniques that they employ?
Yes, The quotation is related to the types of questions asked and the classroom
teaching strategies used by the teacher. It serves as an illustration of an effective
question to pose to students, which they may use to explore more in-depth ideas
regarding that quotation. And good questioning can help students understand concepts
and give them more self-assurance so they can participate in class discussions actively.
REFLECT
Reflect on
The importance of using various reacting techniques.
The significance of adopting a variety of reacting tactics is to provide suitable, high-
quality responses and to follow up on a student's reaction. it is an effective approach to
engage students in a class discussion.
SHOW Your Learning Artifacts
Show proofs of learning that you were able to gain in this Episode by interviewing at
least two teachers on their thoughts on OBTL.
FIELD STUDY 1: LEARNING EPISODE 10
PREPARING FOR
TEACHING AND LEARNING
When I conducted a brief interview with the two teachers in our school to learn more
about their opinions on OBTL, I discovered that they all shared the idea that the
emphasis of OBTL should be on the intended outcomes of the learner rather than what
the instructor aims to teach. They also stress the significance of making sure that the
activities or tests we gave the students were in line with the learning outcome.
