1.Agoraphobia - A person with agoraphobia is afraid to leave environments
they know or consider to be safe. In severe cases, a person with agoraphobia considers their home to be the only safe environment. They may avoid leaving their home for days, months or even years. 2. Bathmophobia - People who have bathmophobia have an extreme fear of stairs or slopes, such as a steep hill. “Bathmo” is the Greek word for steps, while “phobos” means fear. 3. Claustrophobia - A person who has claustrophobia fears enclosed spaces, and may panic when inside a space such as a lift, aeroplane or crowded room. With appropriate treatment, it is possible to overcome claustrophobia or any other phobia. 4. Dentophobia - Dentophobia is a fear of the dentist. People with this specific phobia feel anxious when they think about going to the dentist or actually visit the dentist. 5. Entomophobia - People with entomophobia have a fear of insects. Someone with entomophobia may have extreme anxiety or fear when seeing or thinking about insects. They may avoid walking or exercising outside and may stay away from outdoor events. 6. Frigophobia - Frigophobia is a phobia pertaining to the fear of becoming too cold. Frigophobia is a condition that appears mainly in the Chinese culture. Sufferers of this problem bundle up in heavy clothes and blankets, regardless of the ambient air temperature. 7. Glossophobia - Glossophobia or speech anxiety is the fear of public speaking. The word glossophobia derives from the Greek glossa (tongue) and phobos (fear or dread.) 8.Hemophobia - Hemophobia refers to the intense and irrational fear of blood that interferes with an individual's ability to function in their day-to-day lives for at least 6 months. Currently, it is listed under specific phobias in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) as blood- injection-injury phobias. 9. Iatrophobia - Iatrophobia is an extreme and overwhelming fear of doctors, medical tests and medical care. Although many people feel some anxiety or fear before visiting the doctor or undergoing medical tests, someone with iatrophobia will experience fear, anxiety or panic that is intense, irrational and overwhelming. 10. Jungophobia - The fear of youth or teenagers 11. Katsaridaphobia - Katsaridaphobia is the fear of roaches. When a person has this phobia, s/he will do anything to avoid the roach from entering his or her home. The reasons why a person develops katsaridaphobia are the instances when they are stuck in a situation where they feel like their safety is compromised by cockroaches. 12. Ligyrophobia - The fear of loud noises (ligyrophobia) is a specific phobia, a condition in which a person has an excessive and irrational fear in response to a specific stimulus. For a person with ligyrophobia, a loud noise can create an immediate reaction that ranges from anxiety to panic. 13. Mysophobia - Mysophobia is an extreme fear of germs. You may go out of your way to avoid situations that expose you to germs. The phobia and steps you take to avoid it worsen over time. You may find yourself stuck in a cycle of repetitive behaviors that affect your quality of life, similar to obsessive- compulsive disorder (OCD). 14. Necrophobia - The fear of death or dead things. An irrational or disproportionate fear of dead bodies or of locations, objects, and people associated with the dead 15. Ophidiophobia - Ophidiophobia is an extreme, overwhelming fear of snakes. The condition is called a specific phobia (fear), which is a type of anxiety disorder. Ophidiophobia may be associated with herpetophobia, which is fear of all reptiles. Many people are somewhat fearful of snakes. 16. Pyrophobia - Pyrophobia is an overwhelming fear of fire. People with pyrophobia might feel extreme anxiety if they see fire, or even if they hear about fire. This fear may cause someone to avoid public places or any situation where they think a fire could occur. 17. Quicksandophobia - The fear of quicksand.A common cause of the phobia is getting sunk in quicksand, or hearing stories about others who have got stuck in it. 18. Rhytiphobia - Rhytiphobia is the irrational fear of wrinkles. Someone experiencing this mental illness may find that they have extreme amounts of anxiety at the mere thought of them having wrinkles or of showing any sort of age. Due to their intense and intrusive fear, they may go to painstaking efforts to try and preserve their youth. They may do this by purchasing hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of beauty products. 19. Selenophobia - Selenophobia is an irrational fear of the moon. For some people, the phobia links to a fear of the dark or outer space. 20. Triskaidekaphobia - Triskaidekaphobia is the fear of 13, a number commonly associated with bad luck in Western culture. While fear of the number 13 can be traced back to medieval times, the word triskaidekaphobia itself is of recent vintage, having been first coined by Coriat (1911; Simpson and Weiner 1992) 21. Uranophobia - Uranophobia is the Fear of Heaven and may also be the fear of dying (Thanatophobia) and may be representative of low self-esteem (I don’t deserve to go to heaven) or possibly worries about being ‘judged’ on entering heaven 22. Vestiphobia - Vestiphobia is the irrational fear of clothing. Someone suffering from this condition can expect to experience a very high amount of anxiety from merely thinking of clothing, let alone actually wearing it. In fact, their anxiety may be so intense that they may even endure a full blown panic attack as a result of it. Although such an influx of anxiety will not always be the case for everyone suffering from vestiphobia, it is still very plausible to occur nonetheless. 23. Wiccaphobia - Wiccaphobia, also known as Witchophobia or fear of witchcraft, is an excessive and irrational fear or aversion towards witches or witchcraft-related activities. 24. Xanthophobia - Xanthophobia is the fear of the color yellow. “Xanth” is a prefix derived from the Greek word for yellow, and phobias are persistent, extreme fears. 1 Xanthophobia is a kind of chromophobia, or color phobia. It's not clear how common color phobias like xanthophobia are, but are generally considered rare. 25. Yenophobia - The fear of being hungry or starvation 26. Zoophobia - Zoophobia is the fear of animals. Some people with zoophobia fear all animals, while others are afraid of one specific animal. You may develop zoophobia after a traumatic experience with animals.
