This drawing shows the wiring diagram for illuminating a magnetic compass inside a binnacle. There are two lamps (L1 and L2) that can be powered by either an alternating current or direct current supply. A dimmer is used to control the lamp brightness. The wiring terminates in a junction box located inside the base of the binnacle.
