Presentation
Discussion
So now, I want you to listen
carefully because we will be
having our short activity after. Is
it clear?
Yes, Teacher!
(The teacher starts discussing)
Yes?
Yes?
Next is,
2. Associative Property of
Addition (APA)
Another property of
addition is Associative
Property. It says that
changing the grouping of
the addends does not
affect the sum. For
example, the sum of
(8+7) +2 is equal to the
sum of 8+ (7+2).
(8+7)+2= 8+(7+2)
15 +2=8+9
17 = 17
Next is,
3. Identity Property of
Addition (IPA)
The Identity Property
states that the sum of a
number and zero is the
same number.
Ex. 8+0= 8, 0+35=35,
1+0= 1.
It is very understandable,
everything that you
added with zero is always
equal to the higher
number that being added. Yes, Teacher!
Understand?
Now, let’s proceed to the
7 4
+ 1 6 2
7 4
+ 1 6 2
2 3 6
IV. Evaluation
A. Give the missing addends or sum. Then identify the property of addition
shown in each number. Write CPA, APA, IPA only.
1) 3 + 9 + 6 = ___ + 9 + 3
2) (8 + 3) + ___ = 8 + (3 + 6)
3) ___ + 8 = 8
4) 12 + 9 = 9 + _____
5) 76 + 0 = _____
1. Ryza has 24 marbles. Melba has 8 marbles more than Ryza. How many

Nicko’s number?
ANSWER SHEET:
A.
1) 3+9+6=6+9+3 CPA
2) (8 + 3) + 6 = 8 + (3 + 6) APA
3) 0+8=8 IPA
4) 12 + 9 = 9 + 12 CPA
5) 76 + 0 = 76 IPA
B.
