• If you skip this step, your license and purchase license will not be implemented correctly.
• You should receive your book code and course code from your professor.
• Triple check you’ve copied and pasted these codes into the correct fields!
There are two options – read carefully, and pick the best installation option for you:
If installation was successful, you should see new tabs on the Excel ribbon for Analytic Solver & Data Mining.
• Open the new Analytic Solver tab on your Excel ribbon and click on Model to open the Task Pane.
• From the Task Pane on the right side, click “Get Started” and then log in.
• ALL LICENES start with a 15-day trial. If you need more time, keep going to step 4.
STEP FOUR: Purchase your Student License
• Select License from the Analytic Solver Tab, and then Manage Licenses. From the My Licenses tab, you
will see an option to Purchase a Student License.
• Use your account email and course code to apply the student discount. This will reduce your license
cost to either $25 (140 days) or $62.50 (1-year license), taxes may be included.
o If your cost is not reduced, DO NOT PURCHASE, and reach out to us (see contact below).
• After completing the purchase, you should receive a confirmation email and your license should be
set-up automatically.
If you’re seeing one tab, but not the other, you need to go to the Microsoft store and insert BOTH Analytic Solver and Data Mining Apps.
FAQ #2 – The icons inside the Analytic Solver tabs are greyed out and I can’t select anything.
This means you are not logged in, or your account is expired. Go to the Solver Home tab and log in using your account email. If you
have a weak or no internet connection, you may need to try this again, as an internet connection is required to use Analytic Solver. If
you’ve tried to log in several times, and it’s still not logging you in, log in through the License Manager:
Excel → Analytic Solver Tab → Help Icon → Click Local License box in the lower left corner. Allow the License Manager open. Sign in on
the left side of the License Manager. Restart Excel.
If you can log in successfully, and your icons are still greyed out, your license may have expired. See FAQ #4.
FAQ #4 – I received a notification saying my trial expired, but I thought I was supposed to have the software for
the semester?
When you download Analytic Solver, you are downloading a 15-day trial. To get the extended student license, you need to complete
STEP FOUR and purchase the license. Please re-login to ensure that your new license attaches to the trial.
If you have done this already, and received the confirmation email, please forward the confirmation email along with your Course Code
and Account email to our support team.
An internet connection is required to install and use Analytic Solver. Some Universities’ Wi-Fi connections have limitations, try contacting
your IT department or moving to a different internet connection.
