ENGL 1301 Visual Analysis Outline Assignment

Instructions: Following the example of Dr. Nelson in the Visual Analysis Outline Demo video, organize your
analysis of the visual components and rhetorical situation of your visual text. Complete each chart with
information from your visual analysis notes worksheet in order to plot what you need to discuss in each section
of your essay.

Section 1: Introduction

a. Identify the visual text, its genre, and relevant facts about the context of its production:

b. Provide a brief, summative description of the visual text:


Description The movie poster draws your attrition first by a man that is placed in the center that is over
that is standing relaxed and is gazing out Ito the distance he is wearing a white t-shirt with
what seems to be a jumpsuit pulled down he also has a watch on his left wrist. He has a
relaxed yet stearin look his face. In the back of him the poster is ivied into 4 sections each
containg a different image of him. The first is him holding up a pice of wood over his
shoulders he is very dirty and skinny he had his back facing the poster. The next pier is him
crossing the fishline he his screaming and leaning forward there is a ribbon infant of him so
that means he won first in that race.The next image is of him in the ocean on a boat with two
other men that are all wearing the same uniform he is shoting a gun.

help it convey this message (this will be your controlling idea):

to the sky as well. The sensory is very dark and gray. They all are wearing the same
uniform .

Point 2 • He is screaming his uniform says Torrance. He is leaning forward.
