3.0 THEORY
The Karnaugh Map (K-Map) is a graphical device used to simplify a logic equation or to
convert a truth table to its corresponding logic circuit in a simple, orderly process. The K-Map
showing the relationship between logic inputs and the desired output. The most commonly used
format for writing a logic expression is a standard form called sum-of-product (SOP). SOP
expressions can be quickly written from a truth table and they are easily implemented using a
two level gate network.
