ABSTRACT
• The proposed work is used to solve the problem of dirtiness of solar panels
through sensing the air dust, humidity OR fog and based on that the cleaning
operation done automatically when needed.
• With the increasing deployment of solar energy solutions, the efficiency of solar
panels is crucial for optimal power generation.
• This paper presents an Internet of Things (IoT) based solar panel automatic
cleaning system that integrates NodeMCU, a 12V DC gear motor, L293D motor
driver, IR sensor, and the Blynk application.
• A 12V DC gear motor, managed by the L293D motor driver, is utilized to drive
the cleaning mechanism.
• The aim of our work is to clean the solar panels automatically without the need
for an employee to clean them.
LITERATURE SURVEY
1. S. Santosh Kumar, S. shankar and K. Murthy, "Solar Powered PV Panel
Cleaning Robot“ .
• This paper proposes a solar panel cleaning robot which periodically cleans PV
panel autonomously, the surface of the panel is cleaned by blowing air, spraying
the liquid and wiping out the dust with wiper and drying the wet content on the
panel using cylindrical brush.
• The microcontroller and an Android device are used to control the system.
• The amount of labor required to clean solar panels is also reduced by this
technology.
• This proposed mechanism holds a proper guided cleaning path which will assure
every part of the solar panel system is properly cleaned.
• This mechanism uses minimal water usage with wiper and detergent during the
cleaning process of the solar surface.
PROBLEM IDENTIFIED
•PROBLEM STATEMENT
1. Adjusting tilt angle in such a way that will generate more output power and
improve the efficiency of solar panel.
1) Ineffective for sticky dust and cannot clean the dust at the corners.
2) The sticky dust need to be removes using hard brush or through
mopping action.
3) Human interference required.
4) Requires complex construction.
