I am Jacob Delos Reyes and I’ll present and discuss the topic, followed by my group
mates who will continue to discuss and explain the strategies.
This morning I’d like to present our topic which is Computer Teaching Strategies
a. Computer-assisted instructions
- A self-learning technique, usually offline/online, involving interaction of the student with
programmed instructional materials. Is an interactive instructional technique whereby a
computer is used to present the instructional material and monitor the learning that takes
place, CAI uses a combination of text, graphics, sound and video in enhancing the
learning process
2. multiple-choice questions
3. problems
4. immediate feedback
Advantages of CAI
- one-to-one interaction
- great motivator
- freedom to experiment with different options
- instantaneous response/immediate feedback to the answers elicited
- Helps teacher can devote more time to individual students
Limitations of CAI
- may feel overwhelmed by the information and resources available
- over use of multimedia may divert the attention from the content
- learning becomes too mechanical
- non availability of good CAI packages
- lack of infrastructure
1. This approach helps children develop specific problem solving skills and strategies. =
Problem solving
2. provides a large database of information specific to a course or content area = discovery
3. creates a contest to achieve the highest score and either beat others or beat the computer. =
games
4. provide opportunities for students to repeatedly practice the skills = drill and practice
5. can provide an approximation of reality that does not require the expense of real life or its
risks. = simulation
ANSHERINA
I am Ansherina Danielle Buenaagua and I will discuss the Internet; proper use of it and
some practices to make the internet a safe place for all users.
B. Internet
-A worldwide and publicly accessible series of interconnected computer networks that transmit
data by packet switching using the standard Internet Protocol. The Internet, sometimes known
as "the Net" or just "the Internet," is a global system of computer networks in which users at any
one computer can, with permission, obtain information from any other computer and, on
occasion, communicate directly with users at other computers.
Trivia or Fun/ Fun Fact: Do you know that the Internet Hit 5.1 Billion Users in 2023.
Here are some good practices that make the Internet a better place for all users:
1. Be a law abiding- Internet User
-Internet users should be aware that their online activities may result in criminal or civil
charges in the real world. In general, the law governs all forms of communication, both
verbal and written, as well as all other acts. It also applies to the Internet.
● Do not engage in any activity that is illegal, fraudulent, or prohibited by law, such
as:
-Unauthorized computer access;
-Theft on the internet
-Vandalism on the internet
KARELL
I am Karell Lawagan and I will discuss some good practices that make the internet a
better place for all.
2. Be a responsible Internet User
-To keep the Internet running smoothly, everyone in the community must contribute and
collaborate. As a responsible Internet user, you should practice the following behaviors
to be a good Internet citizen:
Do’s
● Good Practice in Password
-Good password management, software use, email handling, file downloading,
and web surfing practices will help protect your computer from attack. The issue
with passwords is that people tend to choose easy-to-remember ones (such as
"password" and "123456") that are also easy for cyber thieves to guess. Choose
strong passwords that are difficult for cybercriminals to decipher. Password
manager software can help you manage multiple passwords and avoid forgetting
them. A strong password is one that is one-of-a-kind and complex, with at least
15 characters that mix letters, numbers, and special characters.
● Respect all other Internet users and do not threaten, harass, stalk, or abuse
them.
● Do Make the most of the Internet, learn how to use it
-The abundance of free resources available on the internet is what makes it such
a wonderful boon. You can find almost anything, whether you want to check the
hours of a nearby attraction or the name of an actor in a half-remembered film.
-It's great for learning trivia or finding great deals. Most retailers now offer
exclusive online discounts, allowing you to shop from the comfort of your own
home and save money. And you can get free recipes for that interesting-looking
dish you saw on TV. Utilize a search engine like Google and
Look for whatever you want to know - the answer will be somewhere!
DON’TS
● Without authority or permission, do not engage in any activities that may interfere
with other users or restrict or hinder anyone from accessing, using, or enjoying
the Internet, including the use of another person's private information without
permission.
Weight Loss. These scams promise weight loss for little or no effort. The scam may
involve an unusual or restrictive diet, 'revolutionary' exercise or fat-busting devices, or
products such as pills, patches, or creams. Scammers exploit the fact that people
can often be attracted by promises of success with little effort. Many weight loss
scams suggest that you can achieve great results without having to do any extra
exercise or even modify your diet.
C. Virtual reality
- A technology which allows the user to interact with a computer-simulated environment,
real or imagined.
- Often used to describe a wide variety of applications commonly associated with its
immersive, highly visual 3D environments
