Overview of the AWS Competency Program

Introduction
The AWS Partner Network (APN) is the global partner program for technology and consulting businesses using Amazon Web
Services (AWS). The APN is focused on building long-term sustainable businesses by helping AWS Partners build, market, and
sell their offerings, to grow a successful cloud-based business.
The AWS Competency program is designed to identify, validate, and promote AWS Partners with demonstrated AWS
technical expertise and proven customer success. Attaining an AWS Competency helps you market and differentiate your
business to AWS customers by showcasing your skills in specialized areas across industries, use cases, and workloads. AWS
Partners are vetted, validated, and verified against a high bar to achieve the AWS Competency designation.
In addition to the benefits you receive as an AWS Partner, the AWS Competency program offers specific benefits that help you
increase visibility and engagement with AWS teams and customers, access marketing development funds (MDF) and go-to-
market (GTM) resources, and gain exclusive access to exclusive AWS events participation.

minimum validation criteria i.e. successfully complete the AWS Foundational Technical Review (FTR). Learn more about AWS
FTR.

• For organizations that leverage AWS to deliver consulting, professional, managed, and resale services, enroll in the Services Path
and meet the minimum validation criteria i.e. achieve AWS Partner Select Tier. Learn more about AWS Partner Tier
requirements.

• For organizations that develop hardware devices that work with AWS, enroll in the Hardware Path and meet the minimum
validation criteria i.e. have a validated device qualification. Learn how to validate your hardware with AWS Device Qualification
Program.

Step 3: Choose the AWS Competency
