The document discusses two accounts of the discovery of the Tabon Man in the Tabon Cave on Palawan Island in the Philippines, as described by anthropologist Robert B. Fox and historian William Henry Scott. It analyzes the credibility of each author based on their background and the timing of their works. While both agreed the remains were of an early human species, Fox is considered the more reliable primary source as he discovered and excavated the site, whereas Scott provided secondary analysis later on.

The body of the Tabon Man was found in the Tabon Cave on Palawan Island in the

Philippines. There are two accounts of how the Tabon man and the caves were
discovered, as told by Robert B. Fox and William Henry Scott. Both conducted research
on the initial discovery of the Tabon Man.

Initially, if we look at the

At first, if we look at the entries of the excerpts, Robert B. Fox’s is titled “The Tabon
Cave” while William Henry Scott’s is titled “ prehispanic source Materials for the study of
Philippine history” Now that we know that tittles of the authors or the excerpts, lets dig in
deeper at our excerpts background. Mr. Robert B. Fox was an anthropologist who
specialized in the discovery of skeletal or remains. Where in William Henry Scott
worked as a historian back in the time, which also include investigating and also
analyzing existing information and facts. Based on their profession, Robert B. Fox is
currently more credible than William henry Scott, according to the excerpts perception.

Robert B. Fox and William Henry Scotts “ Prehispanic Source Material for Philippine
History holds and interpret the said Tabon Man, who thought to be the first exist human
in the Philippines. Both excerpts agreed in the terms that fossil bone of Tabon Man
found in the nation, such skull, actually did not fit the skull dimension of the Filipino. The
excerpts also both agreed in the perspective that it is belongs to homo sapiens, the
current human species.

As a result both excerpts came up to the same conclusion, that the remains do not
belong to the negrito. But according to what we have notice, Fox is the primary source
because it is original content from the said time period. Fox also does not provide any
opinions or assessment in his work. Robert B. Fox is a anthropologist and that is why
his work is reliable, he also come to studies humans past and also present. Since he
discovered the tabon man, the contents of his works are also much more trustworthy.

The read through by William Henry Scott, on the other side, is absolutely a secondary
source material because it is already became the revise edition and nterpretation and
analysis of the Tabon Man. Which was firstly introduce by Robert.. henry scott’s second
essay portrays to be like a reflection on the previous publication concerning the Tabo
Man.

Robert B. Fox’s story was written in 1965, and William Henry Scott’s analysis was
written in 1968. The trustworthiness of the on the authors by who came up first are
influenced by this two factors alone. In the two works present, the primary source is
absolutely the one written by Robert B. Fox and the secondary obviously would be the
works of William Henry Scott. Analyzing the works, we have come up to these reasons
the date of publication of Robert Fox’s works, it portrays that he conducted the
excavation and discovered the Tabon Cave where in William Scott’s case, it shows that
he didn’t conduct the said study in the moment where in exactly in Tabon Cave but he
only rely on the interviews of the different experts who really encountered the said
fossils.

In the contrary on the two authors, Robert B. Fox has the credibility to more discuss the
main topic. It is because he himself is a anthropologist who specialized in human
remains and most specially in validating fossils. On the other perspective, William Henry
Scott is a historian who is specialized in investigation and also analysis of the
presenting ideas and facts in the past. Therefore fossil, anthropologist is more credible
than the historian.

The said study has a wide relevance to us Filipinos and in our history. And freely let us
know who we are the inhabitance of the Philippine island many years ago. Giving us
knowledge about their exact age. Also,
